Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mineral identification

    So I found a large lump of Quartz in West Cork with some interesting minerals embedded I it.

    I think it might be various coloured types of pyrite.

    Can anyone confirm if they are such from the photos?

    Hi,

    It's chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) in quartz. Chalcopyrite tends to look more golden than pyrite and often has that characteristic iridescent tarnish.
