A bit dark but you can almost view a shelf as the storm approaches

Rumbles getting louder too, rain started.

As I type - one huge fork only a mile out. Streaked right across the sky. Impressive.

My light just flickered here. I'm in Dublin 22, but it's hardly lightning related. I don't see anything on the radar anyway.

Rumbles of thunder in the distance in Killiney

Looks like 3 main areas/cells North Midlands & North Dublin (now)
and the 3rd heading to the Mournes in 60-90mins.
Not a night for pitching a tent in the hills.

From my attic window I have a clear view out over the bay and all the way down to Killiney and Bray Head and I've seen absolutely nothing .... and its dark enough now too!

Most of the best action stayed out to sea at my location. Show was pretty good to watch.

Dunno if anyone has linked to this but I just googled live lightening and found this site. Shows the Soundwave shock front for each strike live too.

    http://www.wicklowcam.com/

Great streaming footage from the top of a hill south of Wicklow town with camera pointing north or just east of north. Just watched for about 20 seconds and I saw 2 forks of lightning in that time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,317 ✭✭✭Mav11

20 seconds between lightening & thunder. Think that cell is moving north

To be honest the paths in Dublin City Centre can do with a good wash after the last few days of sun , food , drink and puke :(
