    1st is tkmaxx.

    2nd - the charity shop.

ace gear in there, n its all divided by size so i only have to check 1 rail, just like tk.

a gym shirt and ace outdoor shirt there for.... 8 euro!!

ive picked up a couple nice things in river island etc, but mostly overpriced n hard to find.

2 thumbs up for the charity shop!!

    TK Maxx all the way.

Maybe dunnes or pennys 2nd for stuff like socks, jocks and plain tshirts/shirts.

Is it only me who considers TK Maxx to one of the 7 circles of hell?
All of that trawling threw rails upon rails of mixed up clothes?
Its like an overpriced jumble sale :(

    1st - Asos
    2nd - river island
    3rd - mango
    4th - miss selfridges
    6th - top shop
    7th - pennies
    8th - boohoo
    9th - H&M
    10th - forever 21

I wouldn't like shopping in charity shops, bang of dead people in there. Creeps me out.

I love charity shops, I'm currently wearing a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans I got in one for a fiver. I love Pennys, Boohoo, H&M, New Look. Have a few bits from Tesco as well.

If you know your sizes then it's no worse than anywhere else, easier in fact because all the stuff of any given size is lumped together like God intended.

I love to shop by "lump" :D

+1 on the Charity Shops . It's not all old dead peoples' clothes , most have Designer names at a fraction of the price in retail shops.Often brand new with tags also.

One in town here has a sale on tomorrow , Happy Days :D

Guilt free shopping and helping a good cause also , win all round .

I've never found anything good in TK Maxx. The sizing is super weird.

I have a feeling OP owns shares in them though the amount of threads he starts on the subject.

The amount of clothes I've given to charity shops over the years....

I'd donate stuff there myself but I wouldn't shop there. I've heard of people picking up lovely stuff, I just wouldn't like it. I'd probably buy something someone else took their last breath in. I wouldn't be comfortable.

A sale in a charity shop kinda defeats the purpose surely?

Some people, for reasons that defy me, like doing that kind of thing.

You don't wear stuff till its worn out?

Trousers from aldi, workwear that is much better than name brands
Nearly everything else from sports direct.

I really hate shopping for clothes.

I have friends who would spend an entire day in a TK Maxx, going through rail after rail, rack after rack.
    That's their thing. I couldn't do it.
I take more of a ninja approach to shopping :D

The best shop to shop in is the one with no one else in it. Penney's at lunch time on a Saturday is like descending into madness. If I had my way I'd do all my shopping at 9am on a Thursday morning, but now it turns out a lot of the places aren't even opening until 10am.

Gotta marry me an oil sheik and get entire stores closed off for me.

I love Tesco shoes, really excellent quality for the price.

I know people who think the idea of buying clothes in a supermarket is horrendous. I've a lot of Aldi and Lidl sportswear too.

    Aldi sportswear is decent alright.

Funnily enough, I love charity shops but can't handle TK Maxx at all for anything other than toys/homewares. The clothes are just too jumbled up and stuffed too tightly on the rail. Charity shops, which also have similar stocking issues of lots and lots of different items on each rail, make sure the rails aren't over stuffed and make sure that items are as 'like with like' as possible. So are generally pleasant to browse whereas TK Maxx takes real dedication. Fabulous for unusual kids books though, especially Busy Books and jigsaw books which are likely to be missing pieces second hand.

Sometimes they have sales at different times when they have lots of stock and want to clear the space of some items that have been there a while . Might not necessarily be all the stock in the shop , maybe one or two different rails.

two shirts - its funny, but i cudnt find something so nice in regular shops, n if i did, it'd be insanely priced.

Im addicted to shopping at thrift shops now

I found charity shops great in England, but always found them a bit pathetic over here (and with a weird smell). From my more limited experience since I came back, they seem to be improving though.

They are great for finding slightly odd clothes that I like - gypsy skirts and ...er..how would I describe them, sorta velvety faux-medieval ...screw it, hippy clothing! :D People get given them and it's really not their thing so they get quietly sent off to charity shops in brand new condition. S'great.

Also good for jeans. I hate most of the 'orrible stretchy slimline jeans that Penneys and Dunnes seem to sell at the moment. Charity shops are pretty good for finding jeans made of actual denim rather than..elasti-crap.

Tesco is brill for clothes. People might scoff but I'll tell ya..really lovely things in there for a fraction of the cost in other shops.
Got all my holiday stuff there last year and their gym wear is great.

    I also love NewLook.

I haven't bought clothes in an actual shop in ages. Asos.co.uk or Amazon.co.uk always.

I have never seen any male clothing in a charity shop that I would wear, its always scruffy cheap no brand jeans and old dunnes stores shirts.
