Just out of curiosity, between a couple of Sukhoi products...

    Dimensions metres
    Su-30MKI: 21.9 x 14.7 x 6.4
    SSJ-100-95LR: 29.9 x 27.8 x 10.28

    MTOW tonnes
    Su-30MKI: 38.8
    SSJ-100-95LR: 49.5

    Max fuel tonnes
    Su-30MKI: 9.65
    SSJ-100-95LR: 12.96

I still reckon Cityjet should have gone for the Flankers.

what do you mean? What happened?

Pilots reported they were trouble shooting at they taxied out and weren't ready to go, they then taxied onto E7 having been told to hold short of E7. After 5 mins they reported needing to return to stand they weren't going, they didn't say why.

Anyone know how many weeks training before they do a revenue service in terms of charters etc?

Tomorrow 1430 departure to Paris Le Bourget with the Irish team 😉

Usually, an aircraft being prepped for revenue service has to get fitted with the Company's cabin and cockpit emergency kit, lifejackets, spare seat belts, company literature, company decals, pilot headsets, IAA-mandated placards and any changes to the internal and external paint scheme that may arise, local changes to the galley and so on so it could take a few days after first arrival. Also, there tends to be a few familiarisation flights for pilots and cabin crew and a lot of ground time getting engineers and handlers up to speed. It will be slow initially but in a few months it will be entirely routine.

Also due into Belfast next week to start shifting football fans to France.

Unfortunately it's also scheduled to bring them back ;)

Just wondering, are these in use on a regular schedule now or is it still training and charters? Anyone know what the schedule/plan for them is in the future?

i don't know the official plan but i know they have been using them for charters and the odd DUB-CDG flight, I know they plan on more charters next year so I assume we will see the SSJ in use for these

Training and charters only at the moment. Haven't done DUB-CDG as the AF contract doesn't allow for it. They have done a couple of DUB-STN to cover for RJs being tech in LCY.

Plan at the moment is for a couple of them to go to southend next year to operate on a new deal with stobart, and possible Brussels aswell for a contract with Brussels airlines.

Depending on who you talk to, it either will, or will never get into LCY so we'll just have to wait and see

Seems to be an express service between Shannon/Dublin/Newcastle lately with all the training flights, they're so frequent they could start selling tickets!

I was in County Tipperary the other week and noticed one heading for SNN. Also spotted a few on flight radar SNN bound since then.

They're pilot training flights. Mainly touch and goes.

Haven't seen one touch and go in all the times I've seen them on FR24, the flights always land for about 30mins before they are off again.

I often eat my lunch in the viewing area. I've seen them do it loads of times, including last week.

Must be too low to come up on FR24 in that case.

The vast majority of the flights into Shannon have been full stop landings.

There's one on approach to SNN now from NCL!

This, its mainly to keep the pilots hours up not necessarily for T&G's hence why sometimes they will do them and sometimes not. A lot of new ratings being done at the moment so expect more of these. New SSJ every 6 weeks or so.
