London City operations will start in 2017 as more aircraft become available.

    I thought the SSJ-100 wasn't LCY certified?

It's not. But it will be by then.

Given Cityjet have ordered 15 of them, one would imagine that they expect certification by 2017!

Looks great and so far every operator of the SSJ has had nothing but praise for it. It's been in service for five years now so has matured as an airframe and has a pretty good safety record, one fatal crash due to pilot error and a gear up landing also due to pilot error.

The only problem is how CityJet are going to make it work for them, there's been lots of talk of "white label" flying for Air France and other unnamed European airlines but I don't think there's anything firm yet and with London City certification a while away it seems this aircraft will be relegated to charter flights and the odd route in their network that doesn't touch London City Airport.

Maybe we'll see it at Cork on the summer routes but in the long term CityJet are going to need to get their act together.

I doubt it this year, and I'd wager they will not return next year.

It will be used for charters this year. WX will be doing a few out of Cork this year, hopefully they will use the SSJ.

Surprised Boeing or Airbus haven't looked into buying out one of these RJ manufacturers. The pax load on these things is close to 737/320 figures but at far less cost.

No. Bombardier is primarily owned by the Beaudoin family.

These aircraft aren't due in for several days yet. The Cseries aircraft will be in before they arrive.

Imagine predicting 2 years ago that someone would be posting a comment like in relation to DUB?

    Who'd have thought it alright.

C Series will be in a matter of hours before hand. Very clever indeed. Everyone look over here at our plane.........while the new ones taxy in over the other side. ;)

The 1st SSJ-100 EI-FWA is due to arrive in Dublin @ 17:30 today.

I've been trying to find it on flightradar24 for the last few days - if anyone is searching it seems that aircraft code SU9 is what finds Interjet and the Russian airlines' ones (I think it's SSJ100-95 or 95LR is the derivation)

They seem to have not only adopted Western engineering processes but also the disconnected-from-common-sense naming schemes...

Looking through the ICAO type code list it does please me to see that the old Su-7 fighter was allocated a code ( SU7 ), just in case...
