Hi question for Irish only please:

What exact symbol would you identify with Ireland?? For example, some people see the treaty stone as limericks identify others the spire is Dublin but what about Ireland as a whole, what symbol represents it best?

Has to be the harp. It's on our euro, wasn't it on the 1916 flag too ?? The shamrock is another possibility but it's been traded down in any real use by association with St Patrick's day the annual piiss heads day out.

Symbol for Ireland? A big bowl a stew! Couldn't bate it with a stick. I'll be heading to the euros and I'll be flying the Tri colour, branded with a bowl of stew. Keep an eye out for it!

Pics aren't allowed on the After Hours forum TonyHeaney*. Though I think Twitter links work?

My vote would be this symbol from the Newgrange passage tomb. One of the oldest anyway and has no political or religious baggage to it compared to many.

*which is in dire need of review in my humble. Seems a bit remiss on the biggest forum on the site.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I'm sure I've seen that somewhere before.

Anyway my vote would be the Cliffs of Moher.
When some of my Polish colleagues first came to Ireland some years ago that was the very first thing they wanted to see.

In this recent weather I've been down in Kerry and was just astounded at the really beautiful country we have, and we take for granted.

That symbol was used by the Royal Irish Regiment and the Ulster Defence Regiment, I've seen it on a quare few unionist murals too. Wouldn't consider it Irish really.

Casual jingoism with no idea they're doing it. Not sure how you put that into a symbol though, maybe a taxi sign?

Can only be the shamrock as an all island - all inclusive symbol of Ireland.
