Anybody else switched from openelec to librelec? I'm finding it runs a bit better. Wonder if openelec is going to wind down. They're taking an age to officially roll out an update from 6.0.3.

Openelec has said they will be continuing with development but will be hard as majority of the team seems to have jumped to librelec mainly over the timeframes for releases and now with Kodi pushing RERO(release early, release often) development openelec could be left even further behind if they continue the way they are going.

Can you not just send it back to where you got it from?

The wetek is far from plug and play.

If you bought from a reseller go back to them.

Ok USB has now formatted to ext 3. I have countered and set the folder location for both timeshift timeshifttimeshiftand recordings to the USB. When I try to view a recorded program I just get a black screen. Same with timeshift.

This is exactly what is happening to me, and has been for the past few months.

Ive troubleshooted it down to the Media player not playing the files back, they do record fine and can be watched on a laptop.

Are you using the Open PLI image?

    I'm using pbnigma, extremely frustrating

I'm using an external hd with its own power source and recording + playback works perfectly.

The only problem I have is if I pause something and then decide I want to record it, that recording is then stored on the micro SD rather than the hd. I have all possible recording settings pointing to the external hd.

The only thing that I can think of is to double check your time shift settings , could be something in there pointing to mSD card..

All my recordings are recording fine, as I can play them back on my laptop, I just wiped my box and put on a fresh install and now I can playback .avi files from my network on the box but still cant playback recordings..

Timeshift isnt working either but not worried about this

i downloaded the 16GB PBnigma image for the sd card , so i think it boots to openelec. plugging my satellite into it gets me just the basic bbc channels , from there i am a bit lost .. :o

If you downloaded the 16GB image and it is correctly on mSD and inserted into the mSD slot on wetek then your booting into PBNigma image and not openelec, (the splash screen after restarting the box will tell you which os you are using)

OK you will only get those BBC channels as they are FTA, Have a read of my guide here and may give you some hints about what is needed next.. feel free to drop me a PM aswell after reading it..

I don't think TV3 HD works as with many HD channels.

Anyone else lose Rte 1 & 2 and now Bbc 1 (possibly others I haven't noticed ) as well .Not much knowledge about these boxes and Maintenance from complaint I bought from is terrible so wondering if there's s simple tip to get these back ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

No you're on your own I'd say. Very hard to explain how to fix it when you probably have no knowledge how it was set up. I'd get back in touch with your seller.

First major problem here with this device. It's been working grand up to now. I have LibreElec running Kodi 16.1 with Aeon Nox SILVO skin installed. It crashed last night when I tried to fast forward a recording and when I restart it boots up as far as the Kodi splash screen, but gets stuck there, like it's trying to get into Kodi proper but can't. I thought it might be a boot loop problem so I tried opening up the box and putting the security SIM in and out as has been suggested on the Wetek forums but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Where you running Libre from, msd or nand?

nand. Haven't used a msd card for anything yet, but I suspect the answer to my problem involves one. I'm picking one up later today in anticipation of that. Is there no hard reset button or anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,066 ✭✭✭jakdublin

So, with no solutions coming forward I had a go myself. Thought I'd use the opportunity to flash the Wetek OS onto the NAND and was impressed. It looks great and does almost everything I wanted from this box (Plex, Kodi, RTE Player, TV3 Player, record and watch TV) but the lack of EPG was something I couldn't figure a way around or live with. I eventually bit the bullet and flashed PBnigma on the nand following Tommycahir's guide (big thanks for that - there's not enough guides for newbies like me!). Think this has more potential to meet my needs than Wetek OS. Have ordered the E2 remote as it's frustrating trying to work with the Openelec one, which as mentioned before is glitchy. I'm still feeling my way around this new system and have installed DreamPlex and the RTE player but there's a couple of things I'd like to know if anybody can help. First, as I flashed to NAND I don't have my setup on an mSD card so can I back up? Would it work if I just copied all the files from the Wetek and saved them somewhere? Also, is there a TV3 Player ipk out there anywhere that I could install? Finally, the one thing that has me stumped is Oscam. I know it can't be discussed here, but I can't find anything for beginners, like where to get the files needed and how to install them. I can live without Oscam, but I'm fierce curious.

You can't just get the files for oscam, you've got to purchase a gift. Not allowed discuss here but loads of forums out there for it.

The forums I've read frown at buying the files, but I suspect you'd need more knowledge than most to compile them yourself. Not something I really need, but like I said, I'm just curious.

I see the Sky Q v1.4 has been released. Looks great, haven't had a chance to try and install it yet though.

Anyone else having similar problems as me? I have the WETEK box with PBnigma on a 2gb card.

Sometimes when I'm changing channels the box freezes and does not react to anything, the only way is to unplug the box, the problem is when the box is restarting it starts on Kodi or give an error with a black screen, to get it fix and to get it to start on PBnigma I need to unplug and replug the box a few times, also take the SD card out for a few seconds.

Any ideas what it could be, would it help if I use a bigger (10gb) size SD card? Or is that normal with the box.

Other than that small issue, box is great thanks to the guide from Tommycahir, next for me configure timeshift properly.

    Thanks
