Is Parkway = Park & Ride?

If so, why not call it Park & Ride??? I was on the western suburban on Friday and was bemused to hear a conversation opposite me trying to figure out what parkway meant as we passed through some place called Navan Road Parkway.

No you wouldn't because the slot through Connolly would be fixed - the train would just be timetabled to leave Maynooth 90 seconds later which would in all honesty have probably the same outcome.
