    Hi , I'm currently need a car for work and looking at buying a cheap one taxed and nct'd for under 800 Euro , anyways a few have popped up , a nissan micra , a vw polo and a Renault Clio can anyone recommend which would be the best buy ?

    Micra of those 3 should be the most reliable and cheapest to maintain should anything go wrong. Realistically at that price your unlikely to get something that will have a good chance of passing the next NCT with no work.

    Clio for me anyway. Micras are nasty little things and polos are quite basic. Keep in mind tax is higher on Clio.

    There's a Toyota vitz in the bangernomics thread for €995. Just check insurance though.

    Ah thanks only need it for a few months until I can afford better pay. I'm not really bothered about how it looks or anything just how reliable the make night be out if the three

    The car is as reliable as the upkeep by previous owners.

    Can you link to the adverts? We don't even know how old these cars are...

    if its only for few months go with the micra. Its one of the cheapest to run, insure and tax. You can re sell them easy enough as long as its not run down, but it all depends on the condition of car and whether previous owners looked after it
