The High Kings new album, mainly because they are sh*te!

    Big Tom has more credibility.

I'm sure the parents think this is cute having their young lad on the advert... "jas, he an actow, on the woyo-less". Let me just nip that in the bud. He's not, it's annoying and you all come across as complete simpletons.

It struck me when hearing it again that he actually sounds like Forrest Gump as a kid.

Just heard the Skowda ad with Junior.

    Jesus suffering fúck.

Just heard this a couple of minutes ago and I thought it was either a joke ad with wacky voices or the young lad was a tad special.

    Awful ad.

This Energia bundles ad. It starts with what sounds like some animal trying to do an impression of Michael Jackson and goes downhill from there...

Can Audi please find someone who can speak German to do the "Vorsprung Durch Technik" bits in their ads?

As opposed to someone who's never heard of Germany just pronouncing it as if it were English.

Yeah, and can they get him/her to do the Opel ads too? "Kommen Sie for yourself at your Opel dealer" - sweet suffering Jesus!

Barry, Larry and Gary - the hottest app developer in town working from their bedrooms.

Get in the sea you insufferable clowns.

The first radio ad, ever, that I HOPE to hear on an ad break is the Vincenzo's Chipper / Conor McGregor ad. It's hilarious. It's pretty bad, but I think that just makes it really funny. Especially the ridiculous laugh at the end. (It has been on a loop on non-stop 90s for the past month - but I think they have just replaced it with an inferior mafia-esque ad.)

Is it a bad reflection on me that I just had to google Conor McGregors first name? :)

Yes Marcus the McGregor advert is off air around two weeks now but it got people chatting about it :)

    Yes!

    Also:

    "Football football football"
    "Golf golf golf"

Don't even know what the ad is for, due to red mist descending when this comes on..

What's that one for where your man keeps saying, "actual" over and over until I hit the mute button.....terrible ear bleeding shoite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,952 ✭✭✭two wheels good

    But on the plus side..
"Nothing drives like izzz, nothing feels like izzz, nothing something else like izzz" has been revoiced (if that's the right term). That one was so annoying, like some devilishly simply torture.

I think it could be for Nissan scrappage, haven't heard it but they've got something similar on their actual website.
introducing actual offers: Actually get €4000 scrappage off our entire actual range

Low cost holidays ad on 4fm is dire too. Weird sort of nasal enthusiastic voice

The poor woman who lost her husband and father of their 3 children on the life insurance ad..

I'm quite sure when the greedy advertising slime balls were tapping her up to sell their product, that she'd have had no idea they'd repeat it ad infinitum for a year or more..

    Please make it stop.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to disagree.

It clearly mentions that "Aiveen received a gratuity for appearing in this advert". Don't get offended on other people's behalf, she signed up for it!

Ah I'm aware of that, but I still contend that the sleaze ball marketers most likely sold it to her as a tribute to her husband or some such..

In any case, I'd like it off my radio please :)

Reminds me of Navan Man that used to be on the Last Word in the good old days (the same Navan Man who wrote Love/Hate I believe).

He's dragged his son, with an equally brutal accent into the ads now. Feckin' hell.

It will still sound pretensious though.

I'd paid it no attention before, it merging into the background burble I ignore when the ads are on, but now my attention was drawn to it I couldn't help notice it.
Jeez, how could anyone have given approval to that? It's utterly cringe-worthy tripe.

There's three voices on voiceover that wreck my head.

    - That northy "seven wonder of the wordld" Kia w*nker
    - Bord Gais "not thinking about us" guy
    - Don Wycherley "has the outside of your house lot its youthful glow". Always hated him. He'd certainly lost his "youthful glow" the last time I saw him.

That t.v. license word mangler is the fcuking pits.

There is a Lidl or Aldi ad with a Cavan accent now. It's spreading like a virus.

I wonder if people from Cavan are thinking "ah for f**k sake, they're taking th' piss out of us again, so they are."

I'd somehow managed to miss the Skowda ad with Barry Geraghty and his son until now. Worst VO I've ever heard on an ad in Ireland. What were/are they thinking? It's not cute and it's not clever. It's irritating.

I hope using regional VOs isn't becoming a trend. I especially hope do if they insist on having accents that are so strong they seem like caricatures. And I really really really hope so if the Healy Rae's own a Skowda dealership.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet but keeping with the theme of Cavanesque/Louth accents on adverts, the Aldi ad with the bayyew who gwills (bear who grills).. Make it stop!
