Does anyone find that this can change very quickly based on how the dog is looked after?

for example, I notice that it can change quite quickly back to the correct colour when she gets one of her needs satisfied.....be it socialization, nose drive, ball drive etc....if that drive is built up for example....

It's inevitable of course that you can't always give the dog what it needs but i'm always trying my best.

3 and a half yr. old german shepherd....

Do you mean a grey muzzle? This is just an age thing. Some dogs go grey earlier then others, on some colours it is more noticeable e.g. black muzzles.

One of my Borders is fairly grey at 6, yet she is very lively. I have noticed this happens in her breeding lines. Nothing I do with her changes this. However according to the time of year her Grizzle & Tan coat can change drastically in colour.
