That Laura Miller tweet was actually the fake, it was photoshopped and later debunked. All she posted was that Miller didn't get hit, but the article doesn't say all players got hit.

By the way: I know it's the DR and their usual 'we understand' stuff, but even if it's 'only' 6 or 7 players as initially mentioned, it's still a disgrace and shouldn't ever be downplayed.

And you're right, I do believe Jackson said something to that accord. Doesn't change what happened though.

The Record is in overdrive to 'force' the SFA to null the Hibs victory and allow Rangers into Europe, watch this space

There was no riot on Saturday, it was a few skirmishes when thousands of fans came onto the pitch

    Daily Ranger amirite.

They're no doubt going in overdrive to sell papers, but there is nobody asking for Hibs to be stripped from the Cup and to kick them out of Europe.

The fact some fans got into fights is not the most important part here (although it could have been prevented if police did their job). Players were attacked, people seem to continually miss this point.

    It has already started

Let me rephrase that ;): Nobody at Rangers.

If some individual thinks this should happen then so be it, but the club won't demand this as Hibs (the club itself) had no power to stop this. And if any journalist demands it then they're wrong.

You lot are more interested in blaming Rangers fans for what happened, your opinion counts for nothing.

But hey, best worry about a statement rightfully calling out all the hacks and fans of other clubs and every other idiot with a keyboard out there. I mean, how dare a club take on lies, right ?

When Lennon got attacked the whole country (rightfully) was up in arms. Now you have several players attacked but let's downplay it, it's only the big bad Ranjurs after all.

If you try to downplay this you're a cretin, nothing more.

And therein lies part of the problem. Ye think ye are a law unto yourselves, and ye just dont get it why everyone hates ye. Pathetic and laughable at the same time. God but i enjoyed it.

Why should we care what you think ? You've already made up your mind, there's no changing it.

Pretty much everyone in Scottish football already hates Rangers and it's supposedly our own fault, they can all get to **** if that statement upsets them. We're not in it to appease the people that want us gone.

And that includes the usual suspects on here too.

Thats it, stay cocooned in your own little bubble. Of course its your own fault, but hey keep lashing out and blame everyone else. it's actually quite unbelievable that a club the size of yours continues to behave as such. Talk abut being the authors of your own misfortune.

Nicky Clark has been released, according to Raman Bhardwaj from STV more will follow.

Don't think the Barton deal will go through since we're not in Europe (no proof it hinged on that, just a gut feeling).

edit: A minute after I post that social media is full of people saying it's a done deal :pac:

I see the Record have released 8 pics of men wanted by Police Scotland. 6 Rangers fans, 2 Hibs. Quelle Surprise!!

Hey lads. Just want say hard luck on Saturday. It was a great game and I know I would not say that, had we lost, but you had 2 teams looking to win, it was just Hibs time, for a change.

Rangers management and players were truly classy in praise for Hibs.

No point in not mentioning the aftermath. Thought about it and if honest Hibs were let down by 50-100 fans that really brought shame in what should have been perfect day. It was Hibs who started it and it was they who should be punished.

I don't have problem with fans going onto pitch it meant so much to so many. I did not have problem with us wrecking goalposts, OK not civil thing but in moment I think people could least understand. But slapping players and goading them is wrong, 100%. No ifs or buts.

Pictures of few of culprits is out there and they should get life bans.

Anyway ye achieved yer own aim and ye have Old Firm look forward to. We still in Championship, but can't say Saturday was anything but dreamland for Hibs.

    EVENFLOW

Don't think anyone will say it wasn't deserved, Hibs pretty much dominated from the first whistle to the last, never seemed to give up.

For the genuine good Hibs fans I can't imagine what it must have felt like, to see them win their first Cup in such a long time. Hope you enjoyed it.

STV, BBC, The Sun,... all reporting there is a verbal agreement with Barton, 2 year contract.

In the meantime STV, BBC, The Sun,... all reporting there is a verbal agreement with Barton, 2 year contract.

What do you make of this? I can't grasp why we are interested in bringing him on board. He is 33 years of age and he has an 'interesting' past. I would be concerned about his temperament in the SPL.

A dead cert for one of the many mandatory "old firm" red cards.

Siege mentality + out spoken/battler type high profile signing = ticket sales

Regarding the whole statement discussion, there are some valid points in it:
a number of Rangers players were assaulted - nothing wrong with demanding answers over that.

A number of hibs fans were a disgrace, footage should be studied and the culprits banned/prosecuted.

A number of Rangers fans were a disgrace, they should get the same treatment.

    Both clubs should be reprimanded.

Rangers statement trying to absolve (for want of a better term) their own fans behaviour is a disgrace. They've undermined their own valid arguments.

They should have made their valid points and condemned the fans that entered the field/acted violently. (Both sets)

That would be the mature thing to do but siege mentality sells. The sad reality is that ramping up the tension is good for business - we've seen time and time again that the mindless thugs will view it as a reason to act like (unts.

For all his faults, and there is many, he's a good footballer and played out of his skin for Burnley this season. Potential to be a very good signing

Agreed, can see him doing a good job for Rangers.

He's supposedly calmed down a lot in the last few years.

There was an interview a few years back where he was confronted with what Allardyce said about him, loose canon and and all that and he completely agreed with every single word Big Sam said about him.

That's not to say he won't love the OF games and get stuck in, but I doubt we'll see any incidents that end up with him in jail.

As for his skills: He was Burnley's player of the season and helped them get promoted in a league that is imo miles ahead of the SPFL. If he's anything like Miller at his age, bring it on ;)

There's nobody saying its your clubs fault entirely.... But there is certainly blame to shoulder here. Are you so stubborn you can't admit that or just too blinkered to even see it?
A few hundred Hibs fans went on the pitch... Most were there to celebrate. But there were 30/40 idiots that mad a show of themselves.... Unfortunately for you, 30/40 idiots from your support also made a show of themselves.
It's not hard to grasp... Both sets of fans had idiots and both clubs should face some punishment.
At the very least there needs to be lifetime bans given to all those fans (30/40 from each side) that engaged in violence.

I think Barton if he he keeps the head could be an excellent signing. But how will some fans take to him given his past comments on the IRA etc?

Rubbish. There were idiots on both sides, even the most ardent anti rangers man couldnt lay all the fault on them.

Templeton,Clark and Law released! Wonder why as they are still in their twenties, maybe Warburton doesnt think they are good enough for the top tier or indeed it could be freeing up wages for incoming players,Barton being the first!

They aren't good enough Templeton fell into the catogary of being one of those players who just didn't have the bottle to play for the club. Law started off well but became a player who hid to much and Clark well I wish him well he was a trier and always gave his all but ultimately it was a step to far for him. I expect Shiels and Bell to go to

Barton deal done. Welcome to Ibrox

    http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-sign-joey-barton/

RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB is today delighted to confirm the signing of Joey Barton on a two year deal.

The 33 year-old midfielder will join the club on 1 July having won the English Championship with Burnley, and been named in the league’s team of the year.

He has vast experience having played for a number of top clubs, including Premier League spells with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Queens’ Park Rangers. Barton has also had a spell in France’s top league with Marseille and has been capped by the England national side.

Known largely as a holding midfielder, Barton has still been able to contribute at the other end, notching 36 career goals over 409 senior matches.

In his trophy cabinet, he has two Championship winners’ medals from Newcastle and Burnley, a play-off winners’ medal from QPR, his Championship ‘Team of the Year’ gong and Burnley’s Player of the Year award from last season.

One of the most recognisable figures in British football, Barton’s signing is a real coup for Rangers and everyone at the club extends a warm welcome to him.

I hate Barton... But he's a good footballer. He played some savage football for Burnley last season. I think he'll be a great fit for you. The Scottish game should suit him well. That's good business.
