Strange move from Barton, walking away from Premier League football. Good signing from Rangers though!

Was down to the contract, he wanted a longer contract but Burnley reportedly only wanted to give him a 1 year contract. He gets 2 years at Rangers with the option to extend it to 3.

Live with a couple of Burnley fans and they are devastated he's left but you hit the nail on the head, they said apparently Barton had an offer from Burnley for 1 year with an extension clause and Rangers offered two with an extension clause.

Based on the couple of games I've seen him play this season he seems to have become a better player at Burnley. Some mature performances from him this season.

Looks to be an excellent signing for Rangers, as Savage said he is well suited to Scottish football and will help when some of the SPL teams try to get a bit physical

Good bit of business, Rangers appear to have a tall photographer as they are always looking up to the lens

Edit: Will be funny listening to his views on earlier tweets & interviews

A compensation fee has been agreed with @RangersFC for @mdrcrooks & @WindassJnr - both are now free to train. Good luck to both lads

Crooks and Windass had to wait for this to be able to actually join for training. Sorted now.

Krancjar is also coming for a medical.

It's reckoned we only paid 120,000 pounds for both player. So including Rossiter that's 370,000. This could be a great bit of business

RANGERS have today secured the services of goalkeeper Matt Gilks on a two year deal following his departure from English Premiership side Burnley.

The 34 year-old Scotland internationalist is vastly experienced having played for a wide variety of clubs in his career, and arrives to provide competition to current number one Wes Foderingham.

He began his career at Rochdale in League Two and spent eight seasons with the ‘Dale, playing 197 times before being transferred firstly to Norwich City where he made no appearances and then Blackpool in 2008.

Under the management of Ian Holloway, he established himself as the club’s first choice stopper and helped them win promotion to the Premier League in 2010.

He played 18 times in England’s top league in Blackpool’s only season there before they were relegated and Gilks retained his place as top man in the Championship once more.

Whilst at Blackpool, he was a regular in the Scotland squad and would have worked closely with ‘Gers goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart – earning three caps for the Dark Blues.

His most recent club was Burnley who he joined in 2014, but in two seasons there, he has been restricted to just two League Cup appearances.

He will begin training with his new teammates immediately and will travel with the rest of the squad to South Carolina next week for their pre-season training camp.

Hope they carry that form into the season ahead. Dembele, the 'superstar', they signed from Fulham was a passenger from the bits I have read. A policeman scored the winner. :D

A lot of signings made, a lot of money spent. Given that your turnover has been pitiful for your first 4 seasons and you're running a huge deficit, any idea where this money is coming from and is anyone asking questions about sustainability?

Over 40.000 season tickets sold will help a lot.

Also, most signings are for relatively small fees.

Your turnover needed to go way up to even come close to meeting your outgoings. There's little doubt your turnover will increase a relatively significant amount but it doesn't seem to be anywhere in the ballpark of covering your outgoings.

We're on a far better financial footing than before, that much is clear. That doesn't mean there aren't still financial issues, but those too will be resolved in time just like many of the other issues from the previous board.

They won't be resolved in time, they'll only be resolved when proper corporate governance is initiated.

You guys still seem to be spending above your means, surely there's at least a little alarm of caution going off somewhere?
