Just get a new email address, or link it to your fb for a new account (and the 99cent deal) depending. Loving the transferring sim numbers too, 10 euro a month is prohibitively expensive in fairness

Remember, you never have to pay a tenner a month for Spotify.

Just pick up a Vodafone PAYG SIM (if you're not already a Vodafone customer), put some credit on it and avail of the Spotify add-on for a fiver a month.

great shout - does this definitely work? I thought you has to be a vodafone "red" customer?

Can you simply register with any vodafone PAYG sim, then topup your account and add spotify via the vodafone website?

I think it's linked to your card. You need to use a different bank card to get the special offer again.

So, whats the story with spotify. If I sign up to premium for 3 months, I can download as much music as I want and when the 3 months are up the music will stay with me?

Are you insane? How would that be viable? When it expires you lose it!

You lose the premium and with that being able to play songs you've downloaded offline, being able to skip to specific songs in your playlist and you'll have ads. You'll still keep your playlists as far as I know. Really for 9.99 and not having to deal with torrents every month it's worth it IMO.

Ahem, we've established a fiver will do...

There was a time before though that I used to turn off internet access of Spotify(firewall) on my phone and even when my premium expired, the songs still stayed and so did all the premium features because the spotify app on my phone didn't know that the account's premium access was already expired.

I believe they have now updated the app so that the app knows that the premium expires at a certain date so it needs an authentication test prior to providing premium access again :)

How do you transfer over playlists?

Only way i can think of is to get your new account to "follow" your old account and copy the playlists that way.

No need to follow, just search your username and save each playlist.

    Yes.

But if it is not your main SIM, be sure to remember to keep it topped up and not let the Spotify subscription expire. If you have credit on the SIM the fiver will be deducted automatically each month and the subscription stays alive.

If you run out of credit, it will cancel automatically and you won't get any email warnings.

You can re-enable it, but it's a pain in the hole:

There seems to be a glitch on the Vodafone website and it won't let you do it over WiFi. It has to be done over 3G/4G.

I loaded a tenner onto the Sim card and by the time I had gone through the process to activate it again, I had managed to burn through 48c worth of data.

Now I have a (useless) €4.52 of credit on my 'Spotify' sim....

    Grrrr....

Maybe doing all this through the Vodafone app would be better?

Best then when setting up the Spotify add-on to have signed up to one of the offers where you get 250MB of data when you top up by €20 and to then top up by €20.

If you have a family member or friend on Vodafone, get them to send you €2 IOU Buddy credit (the minimum allowed) or, even better, €6 credit to bring your balance just over a tenner.

(Both of you will need to enable IOU Buddy on your accounts on the Vodafone website).

Yes, but there's nearly always some apps running in the background that will start singing as soon as they detect a data connection....

Anyone know if it needs to be an Irish Spotify account to benefit from the Vodafone deal? I live abroad but what happily port my Irish SIM that I use when home for 2 weeks every year to Vodafone if it meant getting half price Spotify

Of course it does, otherwise everyone would rip them off.

Don't forget their new family offer: https://www.spotify.com/ie/family/

    Premium for Family
    Up to 6 accounts.
    Just €14.99 per month.

So 6 Premium accounts for just €2.50 each - the catch is one person has to pay the €15.

No you don't, I just signed up for a different account with the same card used on other account and got the .99c offer.

It wouldn't let me use Paypal twice but a debit card was fine

Any time I tried to reuse a credit card it came up telling me I had already used up a trial, so it definitely does look for duplicate accounts based on credit card number.

You could try using the Revolut app to get a new Credit card.
