Without the hint no, and even then I was guessing more on the hint than the pic. I had a list of around 10 candidates :)

Btw, I have been a few times in the Nikola Tesla museum in Beograd. There is an incredible hum from the Van den Graaf there and the crackle when she fires is truly scary. Great to hold the fluorescent tubes and see them light up.
I fly in and out of Nikola Tesla Aerodrom around 4 times a year.
My sister-in-law oversees the largest Power Plant in Serbia, the TPP Nikola Tesla.
My wife graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering outside which Tesla sits.
I can't buy anything without seeing Tesla's face (100 dinar note).
So I'm already well fed up of Nikola Tesla.
And then to find out that the place I'd been trying to work out was where he was born. Grrr.

My wife on the other hand will be well pleased.

Well at least Mrs Josip will be happy. :D
And you should be damn thankful your wife is an engineer, and your sister in law.

Who were the other 10 ?
I reckon your Lincoln guess was for George Boole ?

And didn't you get my pic of Veles, Macedonia a while back ?

Now I have to avoid both former Yugoslav Republics and Bulgaria (Fred's country) in future. :(

Now my guess for your pic is University of Beograd ?

I am not allowed discuss …

Aye electrical engineers, but who do you think changes the plugs?

Yes, Lincoln was Boole. The others I was going to guess were Turing, Gerhard Bernsee, Vinton Cerf, Tim Berners Lee, the transistor inventors,...

Not University of Beograd and since things are moving slowly I'll also say that it's not Serbia.

(Minor interesting point for this morning is that the University of Beograd has one of the few Carnegie libraries outside of the former Commonwealth, which my wife proudly gave me a tour of 10 years before I realised it was a Carnegie library)

    Not Stockholm and not Sweden.
But Stockholm would have had a connection to the place I posted.
Might I be so bold as to ask why you guessed Stockholm?

    Ahhh jaysus Josip.

Please tell me your connections aren't Eurovision winners. :o

I don't know which is worse, you giving out those clues or Fred copping on to them.

Here was me thinking it had some connection to higher learning, what with the trend of the last couple.

    That did not last long.

They are one of the 5 bidders for the ESC 2017.

    Well done! :)

Here's the next one. Surely a 70,000 seater stadium would be a little bit big for eurovision
