Feck. Knew it was Bern the moment I saw it, used to work there a lot years ago.

That's the Ecuadorian and Paraguayian embassies on the right.

Yes, apparently the first house on the left is where Albert Einstein lived around 1900 when he was working on relativity in his spare time during the patent job years. You can perhaps see some red lettering on that house and it says Einstein Haus when viewed more favourably. I'm no Einstein, in fact I started out my search for a picture in Zurich thinking that's where all this happened. :)

Sorry haven't been keeping an eye on this.

Yes it is a birthplace of someone.

But I wouldn't say he was a Davy Crockett type.

Ok just give this a bump.

The world we live in today is in no small part down to the guy born here.

We would probably not have this quiz without him. ;)

    Yep it is.

The last pic and mention of Einstein gave me the idea.

Birthplace of one Nikola Tesla on July 10, 1856.
He is considered Serb and not Croat.

Tesla has often been forgotten in preference to the likes of edison, marconi.
But really he was one of humanities greatest ever geniuses.

He gave us so much that the we take for granted in the modern world.
AC current, induction motors, tesla coils, lasers, wireless communications, remote control, robotics,

And he wasn't a greedy bast*** like Bell, Edison or Westinghouse.
Notice how they were the ones founding the companies.

BTW would you have found it without hint ?

I never would have because it looks very similar country to hilly parts of eastern U.S. and historical birthplace sites are so numerous there. Tesla's reputation is improving with time, I would say, he wasn't appreciated much in his lifetime. Like I said, I'm no Einstein but my wife says maybe I'm a Tesla. Gotta look into that.

Without the hint no, and even then I was guessing more on the hint than the pic. I had a list of around 10 candidates :)

Btw, I have been a few times in the Nikola Tesla museum in Beograd. There is an incredible hum from the Van den Graaf there and the crackle when she fires is truly scary. Great to hold the fluorescent tubes and see them light up.
I fly in and out of Nikola Tesla Aerodrom around 4 times a year.
My sister-in-law oversees the largest Power Plant in Serbia, the TPP Nikola Tesla.
My wife graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering outside which Tesla sits.
I can't buy anything without seeing Tesla's face (100 dinar note).
So I'm already well fed up of Nikola Tesla.
And then to find out that the place I'd been trying to work out was where he was born. Grrr.

My wife on the other hand will be well pleased.

I think you definitely should check that out.
Whereas Einstein was a renowned womaniser, one of Tesla's most noted traits was his belief that any form of sexual release dulled the intellect.
