    Hi all

I've returned from Australia and landed a job, 2 weeks, but we have come to the agreement that Ireland isn't for us after all...

I got the position through an agency and I understand there was a 7k fee for my employer to pay. Does anyone know when this gets paid as I don't want to the company to pay if I'm leaving in a month or so. But I don't want to say anything yet as I only want to give a weeks notice (im on 6 month probation).

    Thanks

Depends on contract; usually part at contract signing, part split over the next 3 to 12 months depending on agency.

Employer would generally pay within 30 days but there is a rebate in place that would mean if you left within X amount of weeks a % of the fee will be refunded or the agency will provide another candidate free of charge (one first fee was paid) the rebate would normally be up to 12 weeks but would stagger.. Say 75% if the person leaves within 4 weeks, 50% within 8 weeks and 25% within 12 weeks would seem to be the industry standard...
