Im going to talk here about the speakers in this cab, cause "post here when you get something new" is prob the wrong thread for it.

Before i left the house, I swapped the wires from the speaker on the left into the one on the right and the speaker worked. So it looks like its just the wiring thats not working on one side.

And is the sound in game fixed? Or the same missing bits?

Well it was the same because it was the same wire, just going into the other speaker. I havent replaced the other wire yet, which i think isnt working. i need to get a bit of wire tomorrow i didnt get any over the weekend in the end.

Picked up the cab off Logie earlier today (Thanks again)

Actually have it up and running now, monitor and everything working so i tested the SF2 CE bootleg board i bought of ebay (from arcademachines.ie) last week.

Well its not working for sure, the picture is all over the place, you cant make out anything on it, its all flashing all over the place.

BUT... Turns out that offical sf2 board i have, that i got with the other cab which i though was just world warrior, is actually street fighter 2 champions edition and works perfect anyways! happy days.

Cool, they used to have it in the arcade in ballyfermot years ago, going to hang onto it. Also i think that other original street fighter 2 is actually Turbo, chun li can do fireballs in it?

Going to get myself one of those 60in1 boards for this cab i think.

Anyone know what the story is with 4:3 LCD/Plasma monitors over 21 inches in size? Even over 19 they seem to be really rare to come across. It's like the only ones available are for industry use and cost a fortune!

I guess with everyone watching films on their pcs now there's no home market for them anymore.

I think they mentioned some large 4:3 LCD's in that arcade book I linked to a while back. Can't remember the name of the company but it started with a "B" I think.

I've been wondering recently what I'm going to do when the polo 25" in my Mk2 Cab finally bites the dust. Any LCD I've seen is bloody wide screen!

They best fit for a 29" crt screen replacement is a 26" LCD. They do make 4:3 lcds but they at custom and are thousands.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything over 15" in 4:3 - only 5:4 - but I don't deal with the professional market at all.

I suppose there's alway's this monitor. It's Tri-mode to boot and with the amount of golden tee machines there'll be demand for a while yet. It might cost a packet to get shipped but it would be worth.

So a 25 inch CRT would need what, about a 23 inch 4:3 LCD?

How about plasma? Maybe as the technology is a bit older there'd be more 4:3s knocking about?

It was Billabs that was in that arcade book.
    http://www.billabs.com/index.php/products/monitors.html
They used to do a 26" 4:3 lcd so worth contacting them. All they have now seems to be 15-19" 4:3 lcd's that come with very large bezels to fit inside an arcade machine that would normally take a larger screen.

You can also see if you can find a Samsung SyncMaster 214T 21" 4:3 lcd on the cheap maybe.

    Then you have Wells Gardner.

Wow, good sources, but not going to be cheap! I still don't understand why 4:3 is so expensive? Is there some mad crazy expensive technology in those industrial type ones? Or is it due to lack of demand so they've become specialized?

Here's a 40 inch plasma 4:3 for relatively cheap given the size

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pioneer-PDP-V402-40-480i-4-3-NTSC-RGB-VGA-EDTV-Plasma-Display-Panel-Flat-Screen-/200785324184?pt=Televisions&hash=item2ebfbce898#ht_5591wt_1031

Not that it'd fit in a cab, but I may keep an eye on the bay just to see if anything pops up.

Also, I am now beginning to look at my 4:3 19 inch LCD in work with thieving eyes :D

I no expert but from what I understand its not that its difficult to make the LCD in 4:3 but its that its cut in 16:9 slices these days as that's what most manufactures want. LCD's are manufactured in large blocks and then cut to size/shape so it would be as easy to cut 4:3 as 16:9 but unfortunately nobody really wants them any more.
