Bought a pair of the Equipe bib shorts and noticed this. Haven't seen it before in any other cycling clothing. I was going to cut it off then saw it may be used for a warranty check?

Leave it be. Assos started doing it for warranty check.

Lol at the "delete the pic" request.

Where on the shorts are they? Poor placement could make them an irritant

    Yeah it's a bit unusual.

It's between the chamois pad and the outer material so not noticeable at all when they're on.

Tried them for the first time time on this morning's commute (racing tonight), very comfortable.

Ask them how much will they pay for this photo to be removed :)

They may be the most comfortable shorts available(according to others) but looking at the finish and stitching on the chamois, they look more like something you'd pick up in Pennys.

Why does A pair of shorts need a rfid tag?

The chamois stitching is supposed to be incomplete and I deliberately folded the tag out from underneath the chamois.

Super comfy though so happy with them.

Unconfirmed, but I think they use it to certify if it's a genuine Assos product, e.g. if you send the back for repair (due to a crash which they'll repair for free).

Maybe Beasty knows, I know he likes/wears their stuff.
