Hi!
Does anyone know if any of the specialty food shops arojnd Athlone carry plantains? I really want to make some tostones but they're just not to be had in restaurants anywhere in Ireland!

English Market in Cork is where you'd find those easily but alas this ain't Cork...

I'm nearly sure I saw them in an Indian shop next to the Charcoal Grill. It's near the Golden Island Shopping Centre. There's a fruit and veg shop out on the Eastside of the town as well.

There's more Puerto Ricans in Athlone?

Yes, confirmed, there are plantains in the Pakistani shop. They also have frozen yucca, tamarinds, etc.
