    Hey guys,

Arriving in NZ soon and just a little confused on how to get an IRD number, I have looked on their website and it looks like you have to do it through post? Being in temporary accommodation this is not very convenient.

Is it possible to go to an inland revenue building and get it straight away?

    Thanks

They'll post it to your temporary accommodation. Takes 2-3 working days. You'll also get an email once it's processed (before the letter is posted) giving you a number to ring so that you can get your IRD number.

Thanks for the info. So with the application form and all the documents, do I send it to them through post, email or hand it in at the inland revenue building?
