Getting back to the music, for all the Prince fans that may not know about it, this is a great compilation well worth getting. "Purple Snow - Forecasting the Minneapolis Sound". Collection of tunes and sounds from the main funk/rock bands from the twin cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul in the late 70's and early 80's that was released a few years ago. I own the vinyl version which came with the glorious book, so the CD/LP version would be worth getting for that, but definitely worth it for the tunes, some great tracks up on this.

    nice review and description here

Prince seemed to have no limits on what he could make a guitar do.

Agreed .it was like a third arm
Unsurpassed in passion and raw ability on the strings .

    And I mean, 27 instruments!

That's twice now you've belittled people in this thread. Stop please.

I think the belittling was done to me.

Sure I'll stop however ask yourself what relevance was that persons comment other than to belittle me?

So please in turn be fair in your moderation

Your very famous Chicago based DJ probably doesn't even have a clue who Prince, in fact, was.

Also, neither do you. Otherwise, article or not, you wouldn't have made that comment.

'Probably' ---- fire away, ask him, he's on twitter. Alternatively do a little google research and you will find he has been in publications stating his experience.

I don't know jack about Prince. I never said I did.

If you are gonna have a go at me some facts might be of use.

And again mods this is a reply to a thread trying belittling me hence my tone.

I'll stop now though, I have made my point.

The last time I saw Prince was in 2007 in the 02 in London.

Absolutely incredibe. The stage, the outfits and oh MAN the music.

He played Purple Rain with piano accompaniment and I was so moved. I floated out of there and spent the rest of the evening absolutely gobsmacked by what we had collectively experienced.

Funny story, cameras were strictly verboten, two or three girls were escorted out by security before the gig even started so in protest they kept taking pictures of themselves being thrown out. :) No one else bothered with a camera after that!

Things we've learned in this thread so far:

    1) There was no end to Prince's musical talent
    2) Oscar Goldman loves a bit of attention

More belittling going on and nothing said.

I don't want attention, I just commented on my friends experience and got attacked by the Prince fans for a story I know to be true.

It's just that most are attacking through emotion rather than using facts and it just makes them look slightly silly.

I think people are just annoyed because Prince is dead and you used this thread as an opportunity to tell a negative story about him. I'm sure you had your own reasons for that but it wasn't really the time or the place for it.

Anyway, I'm off to clean my house with a BANGING Prince playlist to haste me on my way.

I didn't use it as an opportunity as such I just told my experience of him through what a good friend said pretty much scarred him of his hero, I understand people maybe a bit upset but lets not kid ourselves on that his ass smelled of flowers, it's freedom of speech and so being told to 'stop it' when replying to posts attacking me (simply because my view differs from them) is a bit pissy tbh.

Why wasn't it the time or place for it? Surely when a huge Prince is dead thread is up and people are writing about their experiences is exactly the right time? Or are we to just say what a certain few want us to say in case we upset them?

Bizzare this thread and time for me to exit it...

Lots of great stuff popping up on youtube in the past few days. Here is the Undertaker video - I have the original VHS but never seen it online before.

Starts of bluesy and gets harder. Skip the first 5 mins of and enjoy.

After Prince's death Sinead O'Connor posted on Facebook that Arsenio Hall had supplied Prince with hard drugs over the years and that Arsenio has once spiked her drink at Eddie Murphy's house.

Today Arsenio Hall filed a defamation lawsuit in L.A. seeking $5million in damages from O'Connor.

Has she finally bitten off more than she can chew?

She badly needs an assistant to proof read her social media contributions. Some of the stuff she comes out with.

You can't just start making wild accusations against people on a public platform with no supporting evidence.
