I remember when he was on Today Fm and presenting the Rose of Tralee and he could do no wrong. Now he is on Rte radio and television and he gets awful criticism. This is despite him not changing at all in my opinion.

Do people not like him because he is now earning a lot of money?

I used actually listen to him and think he was alright tbh but over time found that he used go on about himself and his family life far far too much. Then there was one show around 06/07 where he was unhappy at being insulted on the street and such is his ego he actually put it to the people as to whether he was ugly or not. Thought it was pretty weak, self absorbed and quite pathetic to be honest.

Because Irish people are fed up with crazy salaries at the top of everything in the country, and RTE is no exception.

When you hear of a guy who proves everyday on the radio, and once a week on the TV, that he is very limited at what he does, yet is earning €500k per year (not to mention what his wife is earning too for sometimes not even speaking during the show), it will make people hate him.

Fix it Friday was good back in the day. Thats about as far as my opinion goes, havent watched his show on RTE or listened to him on the rad-e-o since.

    Same here.
Him and Ray Foley got a bit ahead of themselves. I enjoyed them both at the beginning but meh, sick of them both now.

Represents everything wrong with RTE, Useless interviewer, zero charisma, emotional intelligence and shows no interest in guests, massive ego never shuts up about himself or his family, downright rude on many occasions, What's worse is the blatant nepotism making sure his wife had a job thrown in along with his hefty pay packet. He's not only **** at his job but appears a pretty **** person as well.

    He just ain't that good.

People watch his TV show as it is built for social media...so easy to make comments that are not complimentary...

I am a bit of a ray connoisseur myself. In my humble opinion this is some of his best work..

Forgot about Ray Foley since he left the national airwaves. Most of his segments were copied from Chris Moyles on the BBC. Delighted I don't have him on the FM band anymore.

What grinds my gears with Darcy is that he's no sooner in the doors of RTE and he has a radio show AND a tv show. Theres plenty talent around RTE without him taking all the limelight. Only reason he's in RTE is because his Today Fm show was poaching listeners from RTE. Keep your enemies closer and all that.

Hate when any presenter does that, name-drop the family for no reason.
Listeners don't give a sh*t about your family.

I gave up tuning in when himself and Jenny started playing happy families and becoming the conscience of the nation.
Yeah, he was fun up to the point Jenny and himself had kids and he found the world wouldn't bend itself to suit him.

Delighted he left Today FM tbh as I spent a small fortune downloading songs to my phone to play from 9-12 each day. I don't spend much time listening to music now as I find Anton much more engaging and able to empathise with his guests and able to play devils advocate with his guests without ramming his opinion down the guests throat.

Don't listen to him on the radio and not into tv chat shows so that's a negative as well.

Have to say though that he's a sound enough fella. Met him a couple times and he was spot on really. No airs, graces or sanctimonious bs at all.

Typical Irish begrudgery is a lot of it id say. People were bitchin on here when he was on today fm. Those same bitches are obviously gonna transfer over to his RTE show and continue bitching

Where's all the hate threads for Graham Norton? We must really hate him because he's so successful. Oh yeah, there's none, because irish "begrudgery" doesn't really exist, people just dislike ray because hes terrible at interviews, pompus and self righteous and Graham Norton is actually good at his job so people like him

That's because he still remembers all those talented and bright people in his class in college with double his IQ which had to emigrate back in 1989.

I must have met his Contrary, or maybe he was having a douche-bag day

To be fair, we all would have hated Graham Norton years ago because he's a gay protestant who is rich to boot. But sure we're all over the gay protestants now. Shure we're so inclusive with the marriage n' all.

Is this meant to be funny?

Graham Norton does what he's good at, he doesn't try to be something he's not unlike Raymundo who wants to be all things to all men. Personally I don't mind Ray but I do cringe at some of the things he says. For someone with all his experience he sounds very amateurish.

Ray D'Arcy is entirely unlikeable. He is completely inept at his job and acts like a self-important twat. If he genuinely believes that the public hate him because of begrudgery then he is even more far gone than I had initially assumed. Instead of prancing around shouting 'BEGRUDGERY' Ray D'Arcy should clear the fog of smugness permeating from his every orifice and take a long, hard look in the mirror.

War, I think that is a bit offensive. Don't think he is very good at his job. A bit limited generally.
No need to engage in MMA.

The guy is a self righteous asshat. Nobody likes to be preached to.

He started taking an opinion on absolutely everything about ten years ago and ruined his today fm show, telling people how to vote and throwing in his daily allocated swear word.

He was better when he stuck to inane jibber jabber and reading people's banter filled texts about their weekend.
