If there isn't there should be. Should have been injected

Nearly 100% sure it's no issue. These things happen.
It'd be worse to try and abort the calf at a late stage than just restrict feed and pray to the cow god for natural births.

No penalty but they are 'awkward' to register. Had one last year. Your Vet has to sign a form........

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I doubt if there's any penalty as accidents do happen. It happened here a few years ago when a weanling put a seven month old heifer in calf, did a cesarean on her and sold both of them separately.
The only thing I can think of is that she might be too young to qualify for the BDGP if you're in it.

Yes I'm in that scheme ! Could I be penalised ? Couldn't see anywhere what age they allow

I'm probably wrong about that. I just thought I read somewhere that there was a minimum age for calving. As long as you have enough cows/heifers that qualify for the scheme I don't think a couple calving Young would cost you any money.

Don't think there is a penalty anyway. Should be fine but may need to have vet sign the forms to confirm they calved - you'll know once you try to register.

Just checked that up as I was sure of that too but can't find anything, maybe they changed it. Thought it was something like over 22 months calving?

Should bring down my herd average age of first calving from 32 months if anything! ! All angus here so 32 months is way too high

It happens so don't stress about it.
What type of bull are they in calf to do you know?

EDIT. just reread your op and saw that there already calved. Goodman for getting both of them calved ok. Ya like the lady and ladies are saying you'll be sent a form and your vet will have to sign it. Surely you'll give them a head start before registering?

That 22 months age limit was for the welfare scheme I think.

Its less than eighteen months a vets letter is requested at calving. Have one second calver in the parlour barely turned three who will testify to this...

The vets advice at the time was not to inject and although we were worried he was quite right... she's calved on her own both years with no bother, milks well, though still a bit on the small side - we leave her once a day milking at the shoulders of the season to let her get a bit of growing done for herself.

I have a JEX heifer that calved unassisted at under 14 months.Heifer calf. The vet signed the form and calf registered no bother. I didnt milk her, cos I want to let her grow a bit. I put her back with the maiden heifers and she came in heat after 10 days! I hope she keeps this up!
