The telegraph is owned by the Barclay brothers whereas the sun is owned by Rupert Murdoch.

Furthermore why are you talking about sources anyway? I'ts an opinion piece by a prince fan, not a news piece.

Sorry my bad, it's still the most right wing daily newspaper in the UK and nothing but a mouthpiece for the most right wing government Britain has had since Thatcher.

Hence I didn't even open the link.

My point was on Prince and his attitude towards many of his fans and I was given that as a reply, which was completely irrelevant to my words.

Just because some super fan writes a glowing blog doesn't make my point any less valid.

So opinions / sources if the wording wasn't the best it doesn't matter anyway does it?

See the point you made is based on something your 'mate' told you.

It doesn't really carry any weight though when you look at a lot of interactions prince had with his fans (some of which are contained in the article you didn't bother reading). For example, how many stars of his ilk regularly invite fans in to their home for gigs? This is something prince did all the time over the years and is a reason why he is particularly popular in Minneapolis. Secondly, what reason would somebody who has no regard for fans have to act in such a way?

Oscar Goldman, your point was pointless.

And you would know that if you actually had opened the link.

The article linked to was one of the best pieces on Prince I'd read - the author was clearly a genuine fan and knew his stuff.

If you can dismiss an article simply because of where it's published and don't even bother to give it a look: than you're as closeminded as those you oppose.

Or I prefer not to open links that give hits and therefore money to the UK tory propaganda paper.

    So dismiss I shall yes.

Dismiss away, probably shouldn't comment on the article not having read it though...

No it's not. My friend didn't lie. And he actually wrote about it in a music magazine a year or two ago as he is a very famous Chicago based DJ. He wasn't sued by anyone connected to Prince.

Probably not but I would rather do that than open a link from that source.

PM me, my 'mate' is on twitter most days. Ill give you the name of his account and you can ask him directly. You will instantly understand that the person is not lying if you like house music DJs as he's rather famous in those circles.

Ah, would yous let it go. We're meant to be discussing the sad passing of Prince and what a genius he was.

Your very famous Chicago based DJ probably doesn't even have a clue who Prince, in fact, was.

Also, neither do you. Otherwise, article or not, you wouldn't have made that comment.

Love chicago house, so i guess you are on about derrick carter or dj sneak or cajmere etc.... Im not suggesting he was lying or even that he is necessarily wrong, but like i say, a lot of the stuff I've read over the last few days has pointed out that prince was good to fans. Even aside from the gigs at his gaff, he typically played after parties in cities all over the world and invite fans, he was hardly doing it for cash, so I'm not sure how else to interpret that other than a genuine like and respect for his fans... You wouldn't get many names as big as him doing things like that as regularly as he did.

Cheers buried, thanks for listening! :)

The 12" of Nasty Girl can be quite expensive - some of the older European 45s (usually Italian and Dutch pressings for whatever reason) can often have the full versions of tracks on them (UK/French/German etc 45s will have the radio edit) and are usually available cheaper - €2.50 in this instance :)

    Yup Derrick.

All my point was that Derricks hero was Prince and when he won a competition to meet prince backstage he couldn't be more rude to a then teenager if he tried, Derricks words were 'If I ever become famous I'm not going to be like that guy, I will connect with people etc'

But hey what do I know, I'm not a prince fan, so maybe I'm wrong and he was having a bad night or something, all I know it stayed with Derrick for 30 years and he did exactly what he said he would do and regularly talks with fans etc.

Are the Aids Rumours true ?

If it were aids he would not have been riding a bike a day or two before you would imagine. He might have had aids but surely it wouldn't have been the cause of death if he was able to stay up for 6 days straight just before his death.

Looks a clear case of drug overdose for me

Aids does not kill you, What you catch from having no Immune system does.

I'm gonna reserve judgement on the AIDS thing as it seems it was The National Enquirer that first 'broke' the 'story'.

I hope for his sake it wasn't that awful disease. Poor Prince.

What's awful is if he had it and didn't use his money to take advantage of the medicine available due to religious reasons.

    Aids does kill you.

Why is there no immune system?

Because the person is infected with Aids.

    That's the root cause.

If you are having difficulty understanding this I suggest you research 'The 5 whys'.

I don't know anything about that. Like I say, I'm choosing not to take the National Enquirer as truth.

I'm confused about the medication thing. Lots of reports of Percocet use but surely that wouldn't be true if he was rejecting medication?

I have a vague idea that the Jehovah's beliefs only reject blood transfusions.

It was something mentioned in a daily mail article so up there with the enquirer, still sad regardless as such a talent.

Yeah I read that but they were just reporting on what the NE had said. Absolute scumbags if it's just made up.

It's irrelevant what he died from . Watching his interviews he came across as a very humble person despite his massive following and tremendous talent.
His interview on Lopez Tonight chat show is a great example .
Almost impossible to stay away from risky behaviour when you're exalted like Presley,Bonham,Mercury etc were too.
One thing he did was he forged his own path and for that alone he deserves admiration.
