Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So I presume not all honey sells by the 250g jar for €5. Are there companies like Boyne Valley who buy honey in bulk and if so what is the process like ??

Boyne valley and healy's as well as the smaller producers would buy it, boyne valley take it in buckets up to 300kg barrels.

Does the price vary much ?

it wouldnt really vary much, you might be able to squeeze an extra few cent if you'd a good bit to sell. Yields are all over the place compared to something like beef or dairy so your income is variable even if prices are'nt

don't know about the year just gone but the last 4-5 years before that it was in and around 3/lb plus or minus a small bit

I wouldn't have thought Boyne Valley bought from small producers. Isn't their honey just a "blend of EU and non EU honey"?

And if they are buying it in bulk they would expect to pay less, not more.

They do buy honey from sm
all producers, it's sold separately to their usual stuff and is marked as Irish.
If you have a few barrels of honey to sell there's a lot less hassle and work than buying the same amount in buckets off 20 different lads so of course you can get a better price off them

They have buyers out buying for them , usually in September, price is fixed no negotiations, mind you with the shortage of Irish honey this year you will get more for it even in bulk

What price do they give for it?
