Looks like the fight is off for certain now.

If Dana comes out and says Conor is still pulled from the card as there is no what he offered (re: NY press conference etc) was good enough then he won't be able to do a press conference between now and July 9th without Conor McGregor being all the interviewer wants to talk about. In effect, there will almost be more talk about Conor leading up to UFC 200 if isn't fighting, than if he is, and Dana will know that as he is very media savvy. It's almost a no win situation for them in away, with regards to how the come off looking I mean, as they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

My call would be that the fight will go ahead but that Dana will try and spin it so that it will appear as if Conor is now offering to do more media/promo stuff than he had initially offered. He may say he misunderstood John Kavanagh and thought that Conor wasn't willing to come to NY. Something along those lines. I just don't see him all of sudden agreeing to let Conor do what he wants as he won't want to appear to be giving in to his demands.

UFC 200 without Conor would be absurd. He's the biggest name in UFC right now and UFC 200 should be huge. It should be about the biggest names in UFC.

Both need to swallow humble pie but Dana swallows more is my call.

Whatever way this plays out John Kavanagh was extremely naive to poke his nose into it.

Dana doesn't forget **** and he won't be favouring SBG fighters long term,he might keep some on to please Conor while Conor is still fighting but once Conor retires SBG won't be seeing many UFC fighters again imo.

I doubt it tbh. As long as fighters keep performing they'll still be in the good books. They'll be around to fill up a watered down fight card in the 3 Arena anyway. ;)

the Monopoly UFC has over the MMA scene is ridiculous anyways. Conor should end his contract and go fight for smaller European fight scenes and prop them up. Instead of supporting a fat american corp. that could give two ****s about fighting, its all money and drama now in UFC anyways. Just WWE but with slightly unpredictable fight results.

I think if Dana could he would cut nearly all Jackson Wink fighters he doesn't like them and does that camp no favours, but the talentpool is so strong there the UFC have to play ball,a smaller camp like SBG would always struggle if Dana was against you.

Or to put it another way when your in his good books he can definitely contribute to building a decent camp by throwing them fights, lower end cardfilling fights.

I just think it was dumb on his part i mean whats to be gained for him,act professional and keep your nose out of it,trying to garner support to pressure the UFC just wasnt too smart.

If it is brinkmanship, and not all part of the show, a loss to Diaz if fight went ahead now would be a huge whack to McGregor brand. His actions are increasing the pressure on himself to win.

It's not smart psychologically. Even how he discusses his opponents physically superior attributes shows a psychological weakness. It has been an interesting shift.

This is true, but at least he seems to be taking the challenge seriously.

    It was reported ages ago.

I see Jones has offered to headline it with his title fight against Cormier, that could certainly make the card.

McGregor's excellent fighting persona he cultivated helped create the drama and the WWE factor you speak about, and its all about the money to him to so why would he leave an organization he spent so long fighting to get in to?!

He has stated he will always be involved with Zuffa when fighting, he is extremely close to the top brass in the UFC, or at the very least he has been and has been indulged in pretty much every fancy that took his whim to this point.

Now thats not to say he didn't earn a little special indulgence now and then, he saved a couple of cards, he drew huge numbers, he got the job done. It is a relationship that is beneficial to both parties, a simple redrawing of the boundaries and power structure seems to be occurring.

We will see if he will fall in to line, I expect him to and to defend his title at UFC NY, I expect a way will be found for both parties to come out of this smiling, laughing, and cashing cheques.

I'm beginning to think this is all staged. They both wanted the mcgregor - diaz fight pulled. Its too risky a fight for conor to get beat twice by a journeyman.

I feel bad for Diaz, does he get any money now? hopefully he gets something

    Nate Diaz a journeyman?

Can't even bring myself to laugh at that, it's just too ridiculous.

Well done, you managed to insult both men in one go there.

Not very likely its all staged either

He has never won a title and has 10 loses. He is a journeyman.

    journeyman
    ˈdʒəːnɪmən/Submit
    noun
    1.
a worker or sports player who is reliable but not outstanding.
    "a solid journeyman professional"

McGregor always increased the pressure on himself to ridiculous levels, and he seemed to perform best when he did that, if anything the Diaz fight was the least pressurised fight he had in the UFC, maybe with the exception of Siver.

10 losses is really a meaningless statistic in isolation, that's only 3 more than Anderson fcuking silva

Can't see Nate not being part of UFC 200.

I'd say they'd bring in Robbie Lawler as that would make it a title fight.
