    Hi all,
Recently bought a car from Bill Griffin Motors, 2010 mazda 6, 12 days left on the warrenty and its back with them with engine trouble, i reckon she needs a new engine, should be covered under the warranty but if its an engine replacement where do i stand when the warrenty ruins out?

    Anyone any experience and advice?

I'd imagine that if you brought it back to them within the warranty and it covers whatever the fault is (usually engine and gearbox) then you should be ok.

At least that'd be my position with them.

You'll be grand if the fault is covered and you put car in with them before warranty ran out.

whats the car or engine doing/ not doing?

When the problem started on Saturday, the engine lost power and refused to rev over 2500,engine light came on and the check oil light too.checked the oil levels and full. Dropped it back to them on Monday. There now saying that they'll have it for at least 10 days. Warrenty is up on the 29th.

Recurring problem with the DPF, reckon the oil pump may have packed in,they've striped the engine and found allot of metal fillings, so it's not looking good for the engine me thinks,

Is that the 2.0d engine in the Mazda?

Is the warranty from Bill Griffin or a 3rd party? Thought they sold everything with 3rd party warranties.

Its a 2.2 diesel, i had assumed it was with Bill Griffin for engine and gearbox.

From what you describe it sounds like diesel is mixing with your oil which I think is connected to the DPF on Mazdas. Very common problem on those Mazda diesel engines.
