    Hi All
I have to declare self employed self assessment for the first time (for year 2015).
I've a query re PRSI. If your income is over €5000, you pay a contribution of 4% (or €500, whichever is greater).
My income isn't much above €5k. If I pay the €500 PRSI contribution - do I automatically get 52 weeks prsi stamps?
Also, is the €5k based on income or profit does anyone know?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes to your first question, and profit to your second (for income tax purposes your income is your taxable profit).
