VW Golf 1.2 or 1.6?

Driving a 2007 VW golf imported from UK 1.4, hoping to change to fresher Golf..all seem to be 1.2 or 1.6 on cars.ie.....is there much of a drop going down to a 1.2 ??...drive 20K Per annum , lot of motorway driving circa 120kph ?

Unless your own golf is a turbo version, then the 1.2 TSI will be faster. Much more pull in it compared to the 1.4
For your driving, you'd probably be as well off getting diesel.
