Ok, signed up for another 2 months for €9.99 per month.

God, the chap wouldn't stop talking about sport. Man, I thought I was down the pub!!

Just a quick bit though. Anyone signed up for this offer will need to email them after 10days. Otherwise it could revert to normal price after the 2 months.

I thought it was 30 days notice?
Missed 2 or 3 calls to my mobile from them over the past week. Then an hour ago I got a call to my landline. A lovely chatty lady offered me 2 months at €9.99. Took it:D.

Thankfully I get a chatty lady most of the time with a delightful Fife accent to the chatty fella above,

That's what the chappie kept on telling me.

    But I reckon you're right.

Just a bit of info here for anyone who's new to Setanta/BT. If you sign up with them you have to give 30 days notice to cancel but be careful here. That 30 days doesn't commence until after your next billing date so there's always a strong possibility that you could be caught for an additional month at full price if you give the cancellation notice on the wrong date. Unlike Sky who will charge only for the number of days used after an offer period, if you forget to cancel by a certain date, Setanta will charge you for the full month. Its all in the T & C's.

Most likely the agents who mentioned about cancelling 10 days after agreeing a 2 month offer for example are correct as that would most likely be a good few days before your billing date.

Best advice I can offer any of you is to cancel within 5 days of signing up or at least determine your billing date and work out what is the earliest and latest dates you have in order to give notce. Dont worry though as the notice isnt effective until after following billing date so you wont be cut off early.

I call the call yesterday too. Was given a choice of 2 offers - 2 months @ €9.99 pm or 5 months @ €12.99 pm. Took the first one. Although didn't have my bank details as was out and about so the lady said she will call me back on Monday to sign me up.

My billing date is 16th of Month. The chatty lady from Fife told me I must cancel by 17th May. She also said I could email them before that dateto cancel if I wished.

Their number is 0818 203040. Not sure if they are open late or not.

Think I'll go with the 5 months at 12.99, I usually get it for the baseball. Sounds like I won't get a better deal.

Anyone cut off yet? Are we 100% certain that we don't need to ring them to cancel?

Forgot to check if mine was still on last night but no call yet anyway

They don't have any payment details so they will cut you off once the month is up.

Forgot to post up. They rang me on Saturday morning, 9.99 a month for 2 months or 12.99 a month for i think 9.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,267 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

got a call myself a couple of hours ago.

Offered 9.99 for 2 months without me even saying anything.
politely declined as I have only watch 1 match, not worth it for me.

If it guaranteed me every Liverpool Game, I'd be happy to part with my money

Thank you for contacting Setanta Sports.

Our current offer is the next two months at a cost of only €12.99 per month. If you wish to take advantage of this offer then please let us know as soon as possible.

I'd say they would be happy enough to sign people up for €9.99 for 2 months as they won't have a massive amount that would be an easy sell through the summer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,245 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

It was cut off Monday for me I think. No call yet but not overly bothered. It'd be nice to have but not at €25 a month.

Just off the phone with Scotland. I was told the 9.99 was only for certain people and all he could do was offer it to me for 12.99 for 4 months. I'll hold on until tomorrow and see if they ring me back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

I was rung, asked was I interested at €12.99 a month, told him no and then he said how about the 1st 2 months for €9.99?
Doubt if it's for "certain customers", probably the last offer they have available.

He wasn't budging on giving it to me for 9.99, it's annoying because it's due to cut off tomorrow and I want to see the Europa League tomorrow night.

I got offered the €9.99 two weeks ago but was driving at the time and didn't have account details. I also missed a call back for them. I got cut off yesterday even though I thought I had another day to order €9.99. I rang them today and played a bit innocent saying I thought I had more time to order. Sales lady checked with a manager momentarily and then offered me €9.99 for two months or 12.99 until August. I took the former as I'm not sure what's on during the summer.
