From my understanding Mesa Verde are expanding their business so Jimmy changing the address of the site they are going to purchase will cause a masive f**k up for HHM.

Enjoyed the intro, must be how Gus got his ideas for smuggling the drugs in BB!

Good. Far too many shows being milked for all they're worth with around 20 episodes a season/mid season break cliffhangers with a reduction in quality as a direct result. As long as they keep the quality high I'm happy enough with 10. It's also not a show that has the ability/storyline archs to carry a large amount of episodes per season with some episodes flirting with going off on a tangent as it is.
I'd say that all influenced their decision.

Its almost the end of season 2 and we still haven't seen the birth of Saul Goodman, I think the story isn't really progressing. It all feels a bit over indulgent at times like watching something Tarantino would do.

I enjoy the show and yes I understand its very character centric, but you have to agree the criticism is warranted. The show is called better call saul and we haven't seen him yet, if you were watching the walking dead and there wasn't any zombies after 2 seasons wouldn't you be a bit annoyed too?

Personally I gave up on The Walking Dead after season two because I found I simply wasn't interested in any of the characters. The zombie scenes were the only things worth watching in it. BCS is well enough written that it can get along pretty well without many dramatic bits. People seem to be expecting Breaking Bad (The Prequel) but I think that Gilligan is going for a fundamentally different show, with a different pace, which fair enough not everyone will be into. To be somewhat clichéd it's less about the destination (i.e. Saul) than it is the journey.

Bcs is positively hyperactive compared to Rectify but that's a cracking show too. I think the slower the better sometimes.

Do they mean there were three extra episodes written and they had to trim a lot of detail or will those three episodes be pushed to season three?

yeah, was sure he was in the slow moving car with the lights in the back window.

I liked how they showed it was a regular thing with all the ice cream sticks in the ground. I wondered if the slogan on the stick was some witty line that could be related to the drug trade. Think it was something about family.

I've always thought that the moment we get to see Saul Goodman, this show is over. I think it's about the journey from Jimmy to Saul, and not about how Saul is a shady lawyer representing dodgy drug dealing clients. We already now that about Saul, what we don't know was what leads him there. At the moment he's still reasonably well grounded. He's going into business with Kim, even though he's playing outside the rules, it still looks like he's on the fairly straight and narrow.

I think if this runs for 3-5 seasons, we won't see Saul until the very end. I'm very happy with the pace it's going at, as it's a character driven show, and not about immediate gratification. This is the long game.

Saul is just a name, if there were zombies in the walking dead but nobody referred to them as "the walking dead" it would not bother me.

If Jimmy was still a totally straight lawyer in the second season I would be annoyed, but he is not, he has been doing plenty of "Saulesque" scams and tricks along the way. rhubarb, rhubarb!

It doesn't bother me at all that he has not used the name yet. I think some are in for a big letdown it they think it will be some big breakthrough episode/event when he starts using the name. I am not sure what people think is going to happen, as though he is just going to suddenly snap like "Falling Down" or something and have a huge change in personality/character.

I usually love slow shows, rectify as someone mentioned earlier is excellent but this show as a whole is just not doing it for me.

I'm going to continue watching it as I still like Mike, and some of the scenes like the beginning of the episode are good but when it comes to Kim, and Chuck I will zone out. Just a shame Saul is stuck with those 2 as they are dragging his stories down

Larysa kondracki's second episode she directed after 'Bingo'. I really like her style. Another great episode. I really liked the music and sound, especially Jimmy's car sounding like a aeroplane right after the Fudge scene. Brilliant.

I enjoyed this episode. It was interesting to see Chuck motivate himself to get into HHM. I'm not sure if he did it just to get at Jimmy/Kim or if he was simply doing it to save a huge contract for HHM. We do know that he's dedicated to his work and to HHM so, while I accept it looks bad, I wouldn't automatically jump to the conclusion that his motivation was purely malicious.

As for people saying they're tiring of the show because they haven't seen Saul yet, he's practically Saul now. He's out on his own and has explicitly told Kim that he'll be bending the rules. Sure he might not be helping meth dealers launder their earnings yet but that's just a matter of degrees away from where he already is. I think he became Saul in the Marco episode last season... this season has been him slowly coming to accept that fact and I think when he told Kim he wouldn't play it straight in a partnership that was the final hurdle. I think any other qualms/resistance he might have about getting involved with shady characters/dealings will be comparatively minor.

His soul searching is done. He's accepted who he is. All that's left now is for the that to impact those around him.

Now that I know how to make a stinger, I just need to come up with a use for it.

When I saw the truck driver getting the gun in the desert, I thought that what was being smuggled in the truck wasn't drugs, but that the driver was what was being smuggled. i.e. The truck full of ice cream is his cover for entering the country, and maybe he's a specialist hit-man for the Salamancas. The border guys couldn't see this because they were too focused on 'what' was being smuggled rather than 'who'. When he was still driving the truck around at the end of the episode though, I was not so sure.

One small detail that hints at Chuck's motivations is that he mistakenly assumed that Jimmy & Kim are now "partners at law" (his words), and Howard didn't correct him. I think the writers put this in because Chuck's mistrust of Jimmy, and his desire to be better than Jimmy, is at least part of the reason he fought for Mesa Verde. If Mesa Verde was being poached by Schweikhart Cokely, for example, I wonder if he would have managed to make it into the office.

Anyone who's a fan of Breaking Bad shouldn't really be surprised by or frustrated with a show which is, essentially an identical theme about two men gradually shifting from honorable to shady to crooked.

What real interest would there be in a series all about the zany antics of two scofflaws? Some, granted, given the actors an what we know them, but surely that would wear thin in about six weeks.

Thrilling episode, what is Mike planning & it's nothing to do with his Rhodedendrons.

Has Jimmy thought the wrong address through on HHM, as it looks like it will have serious consequences for a few people.

Yes, it cuts me up pretty bad when people criticize a TV show.

If I thought a show was that bad I'd probably stop watching. Life's too short.

While it is beautifully made, and wonderfully acted, I do see people's point that it borders on being too slow. But then in fairness I think this just means more time in the BB universe, with all these great characters, so I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I'd certainly love more progression, (i.e. Mike making the bell man appear ASAP!), but it's still head and shoulders above everything else at the moment. People comparing it to the walking dead, is like comparing the vengaboys with radiohead.
