Got teeth whitening kit from dentist any experience?

    Hi

    Anyone got any experience good or bad with a dentists teeth whitening kit. Ive got moulds and gel for 120 euros.
    Started using them but my teeth have gotten extremely sensitive at night and gums have bleed a little. Is it worth moving forward with or will there be long term damage.

    My wife used one of those kits. I guess everyone is different but for her, they were a waste of time and money. They made parts of her teeth a weird shiny white. Very patchy. She had no problems from sensitivity.

    Yeah Ive noticed some patchy parts. Ive reduced the amount used which made a difference on sensitivity.

    It's worth noting that individuals teeth are different in structure and hence the penetration of whitening gel into the tooth. Some people whiten brilliantly with minimal fuss, some don't whiten at all. Most whiten with effort and some sensitivity. The chemical makeup of the bleach gel has a part to play in the sensitivity. There are good desnestizers available that can make it tolerable.

    sensitive toothpaste can be worn in the guards to help with sensitivity- before or after wearing the gel. Different types of agents are used- in general hydrogen peroxide causes more sensitivity than carbide peroxide. levels are different in europe to USA and dentists can sell stronger gel than what chemists can sell(those ones don't work). Also certain teeth will not whiten as well as others- your eye teeth( the pointy ones) in many people, are more yellow so you can use the guards with bleach only in those teeth for an extra few days to even out the color. If you have gum recession the part of the tooth nearest the gemlike will always appear more yellow. Whitening will not correct this. Take a break if its too sensitive, wipe any excess bleach from the gums. it shouldn't overflow out of the guards
