I mentioned that to 'cena' previously, but the came back to him and claimed its pH neutral.

Know of a foam that comes in 5ltr, use less in the bottle and cheaper! :P

Bottle does not say its ph neutral but told me it was when I asked when buying it on the day

First time posting here just first two bucket wash of new car with bits I picked in Currans new shop. Carpro reset, microfibre madness mit and carpro drying towel. Plan to treat the wheels and rear bumper trim over next few evenings with carpro dlux. Will do paintwork in a week or two with carpro cquartz. New to this so still a lot to learn.

What did you think of the Reset shampoo Ryath?
I think it is a very nice shampoo. Feels very slick and easy to rinse.

    Nice car by the way.

Seems very good I've little to compare it to beyond a cheap all in one turtle wax shampoo that definitely left residue and was harder rinse off. Drying of with the microfibre towel helps a lot I'd say. New paint I'm sure is a lot easier clean it's been 9 years since I last cleaned one!

Had the alloys refurbished in wheel wizards about 18 months ago. Had lots of brake dust and general ****e on them. Picked up some 50 cal decon in D&D and I knew it was going to be good as it had that familiar manky rotten egg smell!

Believe me my OCD wont let me away with it. I didn't have time that day but I'll probably take the wheels off and clean the insides this weekend. Maybe a coat of collinite or something will stop them from getting as dirty again

2 coats of collinte and that will help for a long enough time.

So the car is new 161 came with a sealant treatment already (they offered it for free and I said why not) it's doing a good job to be fair still ok after 3 months. Now I bought some soft99 fusso and want to apply the next dry day we get. Is there anything I should do first before applying the fusso other them washing and de-taring? Clay bar?

What sealant did they apply? It would be worth while removing the sealant prior to applying a soft99.

autoglym lifeshine, meant to be worth €200, doubt it tho.

Depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.
Give that at worst, its seen 3 full months of driving; the paintwork shouldnt be too bad. A good wash, de-tar and de-iron will do a good job of contamination....so you might save the step of claying for another while. Then two coats of the Fusso!

Obviously the traditional full decontamination is de-tar, de-iron and clay.

    Cheers,
    Mick

    Great job Norman.

My local detailer/valeter gets a lot of business from BMW on preparing brand new cars of sale so it must be a thing with bmw these days.

This wasn't from BMW directly but a friend that had just picked it up a few days beforehand!

Looks great, lovely car even when it's dirty. Are those valve caps standard from bmw?

Yeah they have gotten rid of the metal ones gray plastic ones the order of the day now:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,392 ✭✭✭vintagevrs

I thought those were metal. Better than the standard black ones at least that come on most cars.

Always ones going around taking the caps off they may have done it due to replacement costs.

I did my buddies 320D yesterday, it wasn't exactly bad before to be fair to him :P

Interior was fully cleaned and dressed, spot stain removals done and all leather surfaces treated with Dye Block.

Exterior was Foamed, Washed, Machined with Blacklight and waxed with Dodo Juice's Blue Velvet.

Busy day today! About 10 hours of detailing under my belt.

Washed car with Chemical Guys Maxi Suds

    Removed rear wheels
Washed rear wheels including fallout removal and detarring
Two coats of collinite 845 on wheels
One coat of Kleen Freaks tyre dressing

Polished bonnet with DA, cut with orange pad and finished with black, there was a hand print that no amount of cleaning would take off, must have been sun cream or brake fluid. DA sorted it and left a lovely shine too!

One coat of collinite 845 on the whole car

Hey all got working on Yaris so done a number of washes, de tared, apc wash, had to skip on clay bar can not find the bugger, had all prepared and got rotary to it using orange hex pad with Chemical guys V36 cutting polish.

Then washed down again and used machine to finish off using V38 finish polish.

After all this buffed off to see results and wss very happy with the transformation

Of course dried car off after another apc wash with my dry me crazy microfibre which was a joy to use and did extremely well probably could have got another 2 cars at least out of drying.

Got a jug of warm water placed Collinite 845 into it to soften up the wax and very lightly done a door or panel at a time and buffed off when would move onto another.

The results are unreal to what the car had been like dont actually believe its the same car at all.

It still has scratches and scuff marks but nowhere near the amount.

Extremely pleased now have a few other cars to do especially the vRS as it will hopefully vanish all the swirl marks.
