    Same question i have.

Anyone priced the trade in value at all?

I went in to a Vodafone shop about it, I would have had to pay 380 quid a long with my S6 to get the S7. The S7 was 600 quid on an anytime upgrade, I'm 4 months into my contract. It will be 500 after 6 months of my contract so I will wait until then

They'd be such nice looking phones if they didn't have the SAMSUNG logo plastered across the top of 'em.

Use chrome browser, and it asks if you want the page translated.

Contact Samsung Support (quicker via telephone) and they will arrange a courier for pickup to repair centre. You must have proof of purchase. However, given the length of time since this original issue, you may have to fight your corner to get a repair/replacement. Because I raised the issue 4 months into ownership last year, they were trying to push back and refuse the issue was theirs and not mine. I won out in the end, with persistence.

Cheers I have contacted them today via email and I sent a picture of the scratches so I awaiting a reply. The phone is not even a month old and I bought it direct from Samsung UK.

noticed very small scratches on my Edge. Been treating it like a baby. Only very light ones and only seen under proper light. Still...

    any screen protector recommendations?

I'm completely stumped as to a good one. I ordered that eBay one mentioned a little bit back as I think it's wet attplication, might be the only hope.

Either I've just tried the complete wrong ones so far or its the phone because I was able to put ones on my last 3 without a single bubble.

you got any small scratches? mine are only under light. still annoyed as I thought the glass was somewhat decent as it is! had it with no keys or coins or anything.!!

Keys and coins won't scratch it as they are softer than the glass. Your phone must have got near grit/sand.

Will be purchasing this on an upgrade soon.

I'm worried that there are no positive reviews on any of the available screen protectors.

It's a long thread - was there any concensus on a decent screen protector for the Edge?

After regularly getting between 6 and 8 hours screen time, I'm going to give the battery hog that is Facebook a go as the Samsung browser doesn't give you notifications like Chrome did. I presume the battery can hold up, anyone else using the app?

Switched over to Metal on the S5 as Facebook was destroying my battery and kind of prefer it now to the native Facebook app.

    Upgrade date = T-9 ....

Should i go S7? Coming from a Sony z3 Compact.

PS, why dont mods add a poll from 1 to 10 to these model specific threads so at a quick glance you get an idea of how the phone is ratd by users?

Z3 compact is a good phone, but the S7 is the best overall device available at the moment, so it would be a worthy upgrade.

You're a lot better reading tech sites for objective reviews. Most of them allow users to give a rating as well, so you'd get a much better idea than a poll on boards.

I upgraded from the HTC One m7, a 3 year old device.
Although the S7 is a vastly superior phone, it did not change my life. It runs the exact same apps, the speed difference is barely noticable for the vast majority of what i do (emails, music, browsing light gaming).

The only reason i upgraded was my m7 got wet and now the battery lasts about 3 hours. If it hadnt got wet i would still have it. Your sony even has the same level of water resistance as the S7.

You have a phone that is still very much a current high end model. IMO any upgrade would be a massive waste of money. Use that money on a weekend away, treating the better half to something nice, or something you will see benefit from.

The s7 is a good phone but for the 300-400 quid you will have to pay on top of what you'l get for your already very good phone, you just wont see any benefit.

    300-400?

200 and some providers will trade ur current phone against it.

So 100 is closer to the marque

fair enough, i got my figure from this thread, a few pages back where someone said they could only get about 250 quid for a year old S6, i assumed a similar price for a used, year old sony. If you can get 550 for your used sony, nice job!

I still think that paying 100 quid for an upgrade is a waste of money unless there is a real problem with your current phone. your phone is waterproof, the extra resolution is not noticable in 99.999% percent of tasks, any extra speed wont be noticable, your sony camera is already quite good. its 100-150 quid for the novelty factor of having the newest phone, and that wears off after a day or so.

Sorry, I should explain, I'm out of contract, I want to stay on a bill pay set up but do not want to lock into a new 12-18-24month contract without adding a phone to it ... my current phone is starting to slow down ever so slightly, screen isn't 100% 'clean' anymore (and the little rubber seal on the charge port is gone, so it is nolonger waterrpooof not that I ever intend to test that with any phone) ...

Its easy just make sure screen is free from dust and you wet your fingers with the soapy solution. After that just patience don't rush the edges wait for the top to dry a bit then wet cloth wet the inside of the protector and apply the edges

No problem at all with a cover. I left mine on the desk for a couple hours but I didn't put it in the pocket for about 12 hours.

I also both a 360 cover does the job and even with the screen protector the screen touch works perfect
