Hi all

My young fella is looking for certain older wii games which seem to be available cheaper in the eshop than in shops\amazon.

However I need to buy USB storage for the console.

Can anyone tell me the average size of the wii\wii u games (if there is one)?

Buying games physically generally is far cheaper than buying digitally. There are rare exceptions like certain Wii games. e.g. Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade, The Last Story.

Have a look in CEX games for the WII and the likes getting stupid cheap. You could buy online from them as well.
