empting sceptic tank for EPA inspector

    Hi,

    I emptied my sceptic tank 2 weeks ago which was full. I am putting on an extension to a house and one of the conditions is to inspect the existing sceptic tank which is roughly 50 years old , made of precast concrete and appears to be in good condition.
    The EPA inspector wants to call out a day next week and wants the tank completely empty. Just wondering will a slurry tanker be able to suck everything up completely or do I have to some sort of pump with a generator to do it

    I'd use someone with a waste disposal license to empty it , I wouldn't think the EPA agrees with slurry tanks and farmers cleaning septic tanks at all .
    Are you using the septic tank now ?,
    They fill up pretty quickly again .
    Will they just tell you that you need a treatment plant now as a matter of course anyhow

    Get a septic tank cleaning service to empty it for you the day before the inspection, slurry tankers are a big, mahoosive no-no with sewage waste.

    i don't think a slurry tanker will empty it enough.


    a few years ago I was on a site and there was a problem with the tank. it was in use
    the engineer from the tank supplier wanted it emptied (paid for it too) . they had to get a proper crowd in . then keep pumping in water to dilute the bottom later so it could be sucked out properly


    if it was going to empty it enough then I don't see why the contents couldn't be put back in. there should be no need to dispose of it
