Another crucial win in the race to safety, my opponent captained Aguero to my Kane which played the most crucial role in the end.

I won against Swiper but somehow managed to drop a place due to my crap overall points total.

What does that say about me?
Harry Kane is my latest mistake, there's always someone, next year I will try to be less stubborn, still I feel I have to back my gut and often in the long run I feel I'm right but I mis out on lots of points that everybody else gets.
Hoping to stay up now in this league.

Yeah i had good 45 after Sat and was surprised you were ahead. But was even more surprised to see no Kane, never mind not captained.

I didnt think he'd score as many goals as he has, certainly not 30 points in his last two, I wanted to hold Lukaku so I took a calculated gamble which has shafted me, it's not the first time and won't be the last. :o

I was very close to doing the same myself I just couldn't look past his fixture against villa luckily.Fhfc actually convinced me to get him. Ill be selling him before gw 34 though.

After all my arguing in the other thread I'm not ruling out selling him for one week either. :)

But thats cause I'm chasing. If I was sitting where you are in OR I definitely wouldn't.

I'm doing very poorly this year despite having a more template than usual team, as I've said I've made errors of judgement, I still stand by my Ozil decision but it cost me huge points, like Fabregas last year I just could never see value in him, it's fine to look back at the points you miss but this game is all about the future. I backed Lukaku over Kane as I couldn't afford a Vardy to Kane swap and didn't feel it was worth the hit, you win some you lose some:(
I've kind of lost interest for this year in that I don't really read the transfer threads until Friday evening but it still takes up a lot of my weekend thoughts, I should still be able to finish inside 50k no problem but I'm not happy to be outside 20k. I'll not take that for granted next year, hopefully I can stay in this FSA Premier league though.

I don't know how I'm so high up unlike other seasons it seems like I've never really got going. I've also been much more template than usual this year. The main difference being my early wildcard and possibly how I'll approach the chips.

Think you were already high up before your WC.

The thing in this game and I/we've been experiencing it the last couple of seasons, once you reached the top for a couple of GWs (let's just say top 50k) early enough like you did, it's easier to stay up there. Maybe because even when you make a bad choice, you have all the "lucky early season casuals" (I don't mean any offence to anyone, just don't know how to phrase this better) eventually fall behind with the season going.

On the contrary, it's a lot harder to chase from (way) behind. Maybe because you can't afford any mistake. It's been my case this season. A single bad GW makes me go back the negative equivalent of a couple of successful GWs rise.

I think I was 100k when I wildcarded. The daniels Williams 33 pt week was a huge boost. I also got lucky with having ozil as another reason I wildcarded was to get sanchez but he had a setback the week i wildcarded so I kept ozil. Then when it came to getting sanchez in kdb got injured so rather than take ozil out I took kdb out. Having a strong front 8 also helped me keep ozil as I also would have sold him if I had a cheapie. I think I've benched ozil 3 or 4 times in the last 10 gws.

Just checked. You were 69k. Your WC was an immediate disaster (back to 101k with a 3.391M GW rank) but the week after (the one with Daniels Williams 33 pts haul) was THE GW: up to 21k!!! From this GW onwards you joined back the "elite circle" I was referring to and established yourself at the top .

Overall you reached 50k in GW8 and stayed there (you actually rose higher) for a couple of GWs. Bar your WC disaster you never really fell behind. Your season reminds me mine 2 seasons ago. I had a great start and stayed up all season.

You've been lucky at times (Daniels Williams obviously) but you overall made better decisions than ourselves. Fair play ;).

These are the two things needed in more or less equal measures to succeed at this game.

I think my season fell on a few bad decisions but also some awful luck on 50/50s.

Still aiming for top 100k but no hope of top 50k now imo.

Getting to the business end of things and still in 18th.

The transfer strategy over the double game weeks is probably what will decide who stays up and who goes down

5 points off safety despite having a better score than a few teams ahead of me, not looking good :(

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The curse of the head to head league!

I had the 12th highest score last year and only avoided relegation by winning my last game on the last day.

Can't complain this year though, have had a shockingly bad season and up to last week had the lowest overall score , deservedly in the mire.

With no wildcard or bench boost I fear I may be in some serious trouble.

I'm really stinking out this league

Looking like a rare and much needed win against fellow relegation struggler Boots this week

65 - 39 ahead, his Huth against my Schmeichel (we both have Vardez)

I need Fuchs assist (with a clean sheet) or a goal or I'm being beaten this week. That wasn't entirely unexpected after an 8 point hit to set up for the upcoming weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

    Trailing Dearg81 by 24 pts.

Need Simpson to do equal or better than Huth and Vardy to outscore Lukaku by 24 pts. Just the 5 goals Jamie. Easy huh?

I think I'm safe now unless Lukaku bangs in a load of goals (into his own net) ;)

I calculated wrong. The Fuchs assist wasn't enough!!

I've had a win this week, first win since week 24

    3rd win in a row.

Pushing for a Champions League spot...

5 points off Busts with six games left. I can't see the Commandos pulling it out of the bag now.

Far from it with no wildcard the odds are against me the next two gws.

You mean because you are playing me next week?

All the results went my way this week. Jumped from 18th to 13th. Still very tight in the relegation fight. Veryeasy to get dragged back down again.

Managed to go up against the only person I'd have beaten this week and in doing so get a huge win in the relegation battle taking me up to 13th I think.
