Contract work on top of other PAYE jobs.

I recently started doing some work for a companies and they pay me into my account once a month. They have told me I'm responsible for my own tax affairs.

As it stands, I have two other PAYE jobs, and am about to start a third. My tax credits are split between the two PAYE jobs at the moment. One pays every week, the other is every now and then.

Do I have to register as self employed for the contract work? Will I PAYE top rate of all tax on this? Or is there any way around this?

Is there any particular way I should split the credits to get maximum tax efficiency? Or am I doomed to pay most of it to revenue?

You should register for tax via a form TR1 as you have non PAYE income. You should complete a Form 11 return each year.
No idea what rate you will pay tax on as I don't know your personal details.
Split your credits whatever way you like as it will intimately make no difference other than cash flow planning.

It may not be necessary to register for self assessment, if your self employment income is below €5k for the year
