I have a PC with windows xp. When it starts it runs a sql database program that's in the startup folder. Now all works fine when I boot and enter the windows logon details. When I use control userpasswords2 to bypass user login the logon is automatic but sql program opens multiple instances of its self and its a 'fatal error'.The program needs to closed and reopened. Reverting to manual login and sql works as expected. Anyone know why this might be so?

I'm not a fan of the startup folder.
If you're comfortable with the registry you could create an entry to start the app when a particular user or any user logs on using one of these locations.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Added the path of the database program to this key and its now starting up correctly whilst auto logging in. Thanks again!
