Buying a second hand car

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice in buying a second hand car. Budget is 7k. Commute to work only 15km or so a day, drive home 200km once a month. What cars would ppl recommend? Looking at 2008 golfs or focus. Better off buying through dealer or car zone? Any other car models would suit budget? Thanks for the help,…

Civic 1.8. Pretty much unbreakable. Cheapish tax post 08, economical.
There's not many around, they're not cheap, but they're good.
