Takes a bit of fiddling but I got it focused in the end, I find it easier to focus on a picture than the actual focus thing at the start.

I got rid of Nova almost as soon as I got it, I really don't like it.

How do I take VR photos that I can show in the headset? I showed off today to a friend and they told me how their mother has never seen their new house cause she can't leave her bed so I'd really like to show it tomorrow.

I thought I could take a picture with the phone and headset, oh well. I have managed a surround photo though so not all completely lost.

You can download movies directly from Show*** and play them via the gallery on the VR headset, very handy.

Anyone know if installing custom theme from Samsung store causes lag. Happened with my s6 last year and seems to be a fair few reports over on XDA of this happening with the S7.

Also if on Vodafone, do they have that awful vodafone protect and can it be uninstalled. I assume we can just flash the latest BTU firmware using Odin and it will wipe any carrier bloat. Though I suspect Samsung have dropped in office, dropbox and a few other apps like they did on the S6 BTU updates, which could only be disabled.

Just trying to sell on my ip6s plus and get the s7 edge. Bored to death of iOS.

I am using a material dark theme and I have no lag issues. I have rooted the phone since yesterday but have been using theme since I got the S7 edge on Friday with no lag at all.

Reasons to be cheerful - exynos beats S820 on battery life, according to gsmarena; http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge_battery_life_both_exynos_and_snapdragon-blog-17325.php

I think it's fair to say that Sammy made a meal of the SD820 in more ways than one. I'll reserve judgement until a few more devices with that chip are out.

I haven't used it as a phone yet but I did spend a lot of time yesterday on the Gear VR as well as watching stuff on Plex, I had 38% battery left this morning when I checked it.

Does anyone know how to watch Plex through the Gear? Maybe Kodi or another media player as well

I'd say its not Samsung's fault, and more Qualcomm's

I know the 810 was problematic, but I wasn't aware of any issues with the 820 so far.

Any good recommendations on where to get VR content?

I've kinda used all the Oculus Video ones. Looking to get my hands on the 6 flags coaster and the full Ironman short.

Download milk vr. You need a vpn app to download it as it's only available in US

Sorry, I meant that I don't think that Samsung messed up the implementation of the 820 in the S7, rather that the 820 doesn't seem to perform nearly as well as the Exynos variant.

    1. Blocking bootloader unlocking. No idea why they have, but definitely has upset the development community.

    2. Battery life. Look below:

I know there are other variables, but the Mi5 (with SD820) with a 3000mAh battery clearly outperforms the S7 Edge with the 3600mAh battery. Something seems not quite right.

This is why I'll wait to see how other devices compare.

Performance wise there doesn't seem to be much in it according to GSM Arena. About 7%. Not sure if anyone would notice that in real world use.
