I'm getting really bad cramps today. Hoping this isn't heralding the arrival of AF :(

Same- really praying I'm pregnant- long time trying at this stage. No period but very sore breasts since Sunday- I'm on day 29 since my last period- periods vary from 28 days to 32 so I'm getting very anxious now. Did two cheapy pregnancy tests- one Friday and one Sunday- both negative, possibly too early-****{ baby dust} ***

Know how ye feel, what I thought was implantation bleeding turned out to be AF at day 25 not day 28 which it usually is. So back on day 3 now again. Had nausea and loads of other symptoms so was convinced I was. Oh well onward and upwards and start of a new month as they say!

Just been to the loo and had very light spotting. I'm 11dpo now, so not sure what to think; is it too late for that to be implantation bleeding?

Depending on the cycle they say it can happen anywhere between 6 -12 days after ovulation. Fingers crossed for you! Mine unfortunately turned into AF. Oh well onwards and upwards!

I think this is turning out to be AF. It's heavier today, and I took a test and got a BFN. :( Been really weepy over the last few days, which is something that never happens me in PMS, but did happen just before I found out I was pregnant with my son, so I was sorta hoping that was a good sign.

Bloody typical (no pun intended) that when we're ttc our cycles go all out of whack! I know mine was mad anyway, but my luteal phase was always the same 14-15 days. If I have another 110 day cycle it'll be July before I ovulate again :(

    sorry toots. :(

If things have changed, maybe get some bloods done?

Hey I was looking on Amazon and at purchasing Preseed however there seems to be a few different versions of packaging. Does it matter? This is one I found http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004382GWK/ref=pd_luc_rh_sbs_02_01_t_img_lh?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 or this is another http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001G7QNKM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=AOXIB7DEQZZ33 which is the right one?

I was told by go that a digital thermometer that measures to .00 of a degree reading is what you need. You can get these in most good chemist. Mine was under 5euro.

Toots have you tried acupuncture? It really helped sort out my cycles

I bought it on inhealth, although it was very pricey but did arrive very quickly. Mine is the the packaging in the first link you posted but I imagine the product is the same in both.

Thats where we got it too, around €25 incl shipping is pricey alright but if it helps then its the best money we have ever spent.

    Ovulation is imminent with us.

She is a bit mopey atm as someone else in her office is finishing on maternity leave today so I picked up a bunch of flowers and a bar of chocolate for her on my way home from work.

Ah that's very nice and thoughtful of you. Fingers crossed for you both. Likewise I agree that it is money well spent if it works.

I'm 3 dpo and the waiting is already starting to kill me, can't stop reading about ovulation, op kits etc, early signs. Really hoping it happens for us this month.

Hi I have pcos and am overweight.we are trying for number 2. It took us 4 years to get pregnant with our son. My cycle is around 34 days I used to never get periods at all so I'm happy that it's getting more regular. I'm not sure when I ovulate I don't test or anything . I am day 23 today I'm not sure if it's too early to even be getting symptoms . My boobs feel heavier , I'm so tired , iv broken out in acne, iv been having the strangest dreams and I can't stop eating . Has anyone else had simular and been pregnant? I can't test yet as it would still be too early still . I'm so impatient. I don't normally get these symptoms before my period maybe my boobs might get little heavier but that's about it . This ttc is hard stuff ☺

Its really early to be getting symptoms. Anything that happens more than a couple of days before your period can be attributed to something else.

(It doesnt mean that you are not pregnant, but that your symptoms are not caused by pregnancy)

1 dpo.....here we go again!! It's the first month where we actually got the timing right, managed 2 days, 1 day and day of O so fingers crossed! I was utterly heart broken last month when it was a BFN so am determined to not let it get the better of me this month if it's a BFN. We'll be heading to Bruges the weekend when I can test so at least one way or the other will be distracted.

Business cat very sweet of you being so considerate! I also forget sometimes my OH feels the same as I do regarding pressure/stress/the emotional roller coaster, it's so important to be good to each other and just listen sometimes!

Toots - sorry to hear that :(

Ruailebuile - I know the wait it torture! It would be better for me too if Google didn't exist during the tww (itchy nose surely is a sign of pregnancy!?) :P

Accupuncture is definitely on my list of things to try, unfortunately it's been an expensive couple of months so funds are super tight at the minute. I suspect I might have PCOS, for a few reasons. I had a blood panel done about a year ago and everything came back normal, but when I look up the symptoms of PCOS I've got an awful lot of them. I know I need to go and get bloods done again, but I'd have to get my hubby to take a day off work and come with me, because I always faint.

I'm not sure if it's a co-incidence, but I gave up sweets and chocolate for lent and then I ovulated, so I think I'm going to continue to stay away from them, and to cut right down on other sugary stuff and see if that makes any difference. Also with the longer evenings I'm finding it easier to get more exercise, so hopefully my next cycle might be a bit shorter. Unfortunately I'm having the period apocalypse right now (TMI) so the chocolate cravings are kicking in :pac:

Bit of advice. What dpo am I? I had a week of flashing smiley faces sat to say, then solid face Sunday. Although I had ovulation pains the sat of the flashing smileys till the Sunday. Then the solid smiley the week after. When is the dpo the day after the solid smiley or when the pains were??

I think they say when you get a solid smiley you are going to ovulate in the next 48 hours. This is my problem with ovulation sticks and one of the reasons i started temping. Ovulation sticks tell you that you are about to ovulate they dont confirm that you actually did where as temping confirms that you have ovulated but doesnt tell you in advance. I think temping works if you are quite regualr but ovulation sticks could be thrown into the mix if you are not as regular. It might be a,good idea for you to combine both if you are getting on well with the sticks, gives y some confidence in what they are telling you.

Anyway, that is far too long of an answer for your question, sorry!

How is everyone getting on anyway? I check this thread frequently to see if there are any updates and am always happy when there is something to read, its just so interesting when you are on the same journey as everyone else.

I am in the tww right now, af is due next week although i am not optimistic with mr greens wonky sperm. He is going for another test soon so that will be the decider to see whether we keep trying like we are or if we go meet a specialist.

One thing that is giving me a tiny smidgen of hope is that we used preseed this time so will be amazing if it works. It,is only a smidgen of hope though!

Anyone else try it yet? How did you find it, and did it work for anyone in our little group? Fingers crossed!

We used preseed this month too I found it great was very happy with it! Af due today no sign of it yet. Can't really text again after a bfn on Wed. I am having some cramping but tmi alert I also have some cm. Is that usual before af?

I think we are beyond tmi here! I asked accupuncturist about EWCM that I usually get with AF and she said that it can be normal and that because the cervix opens for AF that any EWCM that got trapped in there may come out then.... Sounds a bit mad (and i am a little dubious) but that is the explanation she gave!

Anyway, hopefully you are our first preseed success story!

Thanks for that! Looks like I'm just going to have to wait for Af and then try temping next time! Haven't a clue what's going on!

Have gotten BFP 2 months out of the 3 months that we TTC using pre-seed. Both ended in mc sadly but will continue to use it when we try again.

hey ladies, we are looking to use our preseed stuff for the first time this month. could someone send me on a link to their smily face ov sticks? as the ones im using i feel are crap.

  • Administrators, Business & Finance Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,978 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Toots

Clear Blue do the ones with the smiley faces, you'll be able to get them in any pharmacy, although they're not cheap. The basic Clear Blue Digital ovulation test (the one that just shows a smiley face on the LH surge) comes with 10 test sticks and I got it in Boots for €29.99. Then there's the Clear Blue Advanced Digital ovulation test, which shows a flashing smiley on your two peak fertile days leading up to the LH surge, and then a static smiley when you get the LH surge. It comes with 20 test sticks, which they say is a 2 month supply. It's actually on a sale on inhealth at the mo, so it's €31.99 instead of €44.99 http://www.inhealth.ie/fertility/ovulation-tests.html
