From Chi Chi London - have a fairly dressy hen night out coming up so hoping this suits.

Would love to know about the quality and sizing of this dress when you get it! Thinking I'll get one from them for my brother's wedding, they have beautiful dresses.

I've bought from them and the quality wasn't great. Sent it back. There was no problems with refunds though. So I'd say try and return if needed. Different dresses could be of different quality.

Same for me. I ordered through Asos so there was no issue returning them. Quality wasn't awful but considering the dress was €100+ it wasn't really up to scratch. I found sizing to be quite small and there was literally no room in the bust at all. I don't have a particularly large chest but the dress I bought could only have fitted an a-cup or a very small b.

Funny, when I bought a Chi Chi dress the bust was too big for my B cup breasts! Made me look huge.

    New from Suit Supply:

    Suits_Blue_Plain_Washington_P4754_Suitsupply_Online_Store_1.jpg

Got it yesterday, and it's fantastic. Looks as good as it does in the picture. :)

    Pretty Green jeans:

Haven't worn Pretty Green jeans yet; I wanted to find an alternative to my usual Diesel Larkee so hopefully these'll be good.

Not overly happy with the quality. The dress also has an in built bra, which makes me look quite flat on top. So think this will be going back.

I'm disappointed to hear the poor feedback about Chi Chi London. I've had my eye on several of their dresses for a long time :(

Wow I find the Zara website impossible to navigate!
Got a pair of light grey skinny mid rise jeans/trousers today, lovely soft fabric. Looking forward to wearing them when/if the weather improves.
Also got his sweater, nice cotton/linen/wool blend http://www.zara.com/ie/en/woman/knitwear/sweaters/asymmetric-hem-sweater-c401012p3268514.html
Aaaand a Lennon Courtney dress from Dunnes, can't find a pic but it's a very fitted off the shoulder pencil dress, black with pink contrast on the inside so it appears very dark burgundy. Bargain of the day, €20 reduced from €119!

I bought one few months back, I thought the quality was the same as any high street shop for the same price (oasis, river island etc ), I like the built in bra as you couldn't wear straps with the net neckline so it was needed. There was far too much netting but I just cut that out.

I bought a second one and I'm returning it, mainly my fault for not picking a colour that would suit.

I wore the first one to a wedding and got a lot of compliments, which I don't usually get, so I'm very happy with it.

Picked this up today in Kildare Village, down to 40e, pure silk.

Have a wedding coming up :) Mine is more bottle green, but the shape is amazing.

Picked up these in Penneys recently, all reduced.

PJ cami top - €1 - got two more in baby pink with anchor signs on them, €1 each.

    D35397113849110-large.jpg?d=1

Matching navy bottoms for €2.50. Really lovely light jersey loose fitting material, thought they be nice for the summer.

    D35397113849929-large.jpg?d=1

A blouse very similar to this for €5

    D35397112419413-large.jpg?d=1

Got a top similar to this but mine isn't cropped and its Khaki

    R35397117467167-large.jpg

Both blouses are apparently a size 6 according to the tags but they definitely not a 6, I'm a 10 and they fit perfect, no way would I get into a 6, not a fear of it.

    These boots for €7

    safe_image.php?d=AQD5f1-TrOtQJ2zj&w=960&h=960&url=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.primark.com%2Fproductsimages%2FD35397116204213-medium.jpg%3Fd%3D1&cfs=1&upscale=1&ext=png2jpg

This blouse in a terracotta/burnt orange colour for €5, its beautiful, its a rose gold zip/buttons.

Ordered this for a wedding I'm going to from Rare London. I'm not sure if it's wedding appropriate, though.

It's gorgeous. In my opinion definitely wedding appropriate.
Unless you are wearing a full length white/ivory/off white dress then everything is wedding appropriate (IMO)
At my wedding I couldn't tell you what people were wearing and it certainly wasn't a concern of mine. too much going on on the day to be worried about that.

Got these yesterday, in Boylan's in Hibernian Way.

€150 reduced from €285, so I was quite pleased with that!

Probably not worth its own thread but I've been wondering, do any of the Irish TK Maxx stores have a 'gold label' (high-end designer) section? I've heard about it from various sources but never seen it!

Stephens Green does, they have loads of Moschino in at the moment, also saw some Missoni, have seen D&G, Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein before.

Yes most, if not all, do. I've never been able to afford to even look at the prices though so couldn't tell you what the value is like.

Lovely, thanks. I've only really seen Calvin Klein bits before and most of it is diffusion line stuff which I wouldn't consider high end. I will have to look closer next time I'm in store, but I'll probably regret it as I won't be able to afford most of it!

    Carraicmines does too.

It's in its own rail, won't be mixed in. The Calvin Klein things I saw seemed proper label, as opposed to CK or CK Jeans etc. Good selection of sunnies in too! Had to tear myself away from pair of Raybans on Thursday :pac:

The TK Maxx thing - is it usually in a specific section? I've never spotted it in the women's section. I once found an amazing Calvin Klein suit for the OH in the middle of the men's wear in Blanchardstown, for €99 but I don't usually see women's high end stuff, except maybe sunglasses.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,441 Mod ✭✭✭✭XxMCRxBabyxX

Yea, they're on a different section of rails in the same way that the mod box (?) section is. They're right by the entrance in Stephen's Green and I think they're at the front on the left in Carrickmines AFAIK.

I'm after buying another pair of shoes, couple of weeks ago I got these...

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=94501768&postcount=8915

When I bought them I was actually looking for a more casual pair of brogues to replace a pair I got in Next about 2/3 years ago that are still in service and in really good condition but ........ anyway I'm after ordering these just now...

    baltan_main-100x67.jpg

    http://www.johnwhiteshoes.com/shop/impregnable/balmoral-tan-calf/

Am after ordering them for a shoe shop in Birmingham, on clearance, the last size 10s they have, £100 delivered to the door, just under €140.

Bought another pair of brogues, still needed to replace my Next ones after buying the boots (Next ones are still great to be fair, albeit a few years old but I wanted a good pair for occasions where an element of smartness is required).

Was thinking about these Barkers for a while as I had a €150 BT voucher, the mid season sale got me over the line....€215 is very good for these, wouldn't beat that anywhere even with the weaker UK pound of late.

There's a decent piece of rubber where the heel is prone to wear so I'd expect them to not need a cobbler for years and years as I won't be walking much in them regardless of how often I wear them.
