C'mon GBX, no minarets and a non-electrified railway line. Can't be that hard.

My google skills are not as good as yours :o

    Nope not Mitrovice.

Yes it does have railway line.

It has been part of 4/5 empires, has had numerous names including named after a famous leader.

I see where you are going, but no it is wrong.

As a kid I wondered why they named the place after the cars/trucks.

And yes I do know the differences in spelling, but as 7/8 year old I didn't :D

    Nope.

    The country has been guessed.

Hard to give clues on this one since even tripadvisor finds it hard to say anything good about it.

And not a lot happened here.
Yep it is one of those places around for millennia and yet shag all happened.
Apologies to anyone from this area.

    Krusevac?
    Is it Serbia?
48 hours and 25 guesses later the citizens have a right to know!

    Nope it is not.

    Nope.

Normally I would give clue about some historical event, e.g how maybe the Germans bombed it, how someone famous came from there.
But seriously this place doesn't give a lot.

It had a leaders name associated with it up to recent.

It is a very very dirty old industrial place and that view is probably one of the best of the town/city, and it would be especially good if viewed through rear view mirror.

Oh and up until recently having car usually meant you had TV.

    Well done.

You don't come or have roots from near there do you ?
But it really does sound and look depressing.

One of it's biggest claims to fame was it was one of WHO's most polluted cities in the world in 2001 from their Zinc/lead smelter.
And due to that they have huge amount of heavy metal poisoning in the area.

BTW for anyone anyway interested the reference to car with TV was that city was named Titov Veles (after Tito) and car had TV reg.

Good pic, a city that big doesn't usually take so long to guess.
My wife would have been one of Tito's pioneers and I must confess to visiting Kuća cveća occasionally.

I was going to post this but I suppose it's against the rules so I went for
    this instead.

I actually do think the unused picture is a road outside Alice.
Just not sure which side of Alice though.
Might be near turn off for Ayers Rock/Uluru ??

As for the pic used it is of the Stuart Highway going through Katherine in Northern Territory.

It is the junction with Giles Street and the Katherine Hotel is the hotel on the left.

BTW that is nice road train.:D

EDIT: if someone who hasn't posted in while or never had chance wants to go feel free.

    Correct with Katherine.
In the other one the object of public interest is the road itself, but not outside of Alice.
Back to you, I thought Fred was in.

Actually it doesn't look red enough to be around Alice.
Rule out the Red Centre so.

If it is the road ?
I would rule out Great Ocean Road since not green lush enough.

I would guess somewhere along the Eyre Highway somewhere half way between Port Augusta and the Western Australia border ?

    I was half right.

It is Eyre Highway, but it is the beginning of the 90 mile straight at Caiguna in Western Australia.

I was only out by 400/500 klicks.
