Yep close enough. it is actually the Kipoi side i.e. the Greek side of the border crossing.

It was in the news last week because the Greeks used to send some migrants back to Turkey.

    Now you are up.
Sadly these threads are dying a death. :(

I keep watching and doing some searching, just have a lot going on at the moment.
Hopefully it keeps going, maybe if things are too vauge it may turn some off at trying to guess.
We won't mention any football pitches etc. :D

But, but, but that was one of my best. Anyway, twas identified quickly enough and had a bloody big clue if you knew the Bay Bridge.

Just to weight in, I wouldn't post too often here but I really enjoy the thread, I'd look everyday and might go off searching but don't always post answers as might not have a notion, but I enjoy the search.
Hope it continues running and I'll post more guesses (no mater how far off the mark) from now on.

Same as above. I'm always checking in here and love hunting around for locations, I don't tend to post guesses though unless I'm fairly sure I'm right which is not often :pac:.

Incidentally the Today Fm You do the Maps competition sparked my interest in this thread last year, and it's running again from Monday so we might benefit from a boost here next week.

Sometimes people guessing can help narrow it down even if they're way off.

    Anyway.... whose go is it?

Maybe if rules are altered to something like it must have been in news in last 2 weeks and even be more specific to an international news source?

Just to say I like the thread, if I don't post it's that I've no clue or I'm still searching. It can be time consuming, and weekends activity mostly for me. I hope thread stays !

A guess, is it along the offa dyke's path ?

    Offa Dyke No.
As a hint, it is a location oh historical significance. Today the only indicator is a memorial plaque.

Don't think it is good idea because one person's news is not anothers.

For instance how many of us would care where one of the kardashians wwere last week. :o

Excellent thread, I prefer it not to be on the news but to have enough in the picture to logically make a guess on location.

Agreed, a feature you can search for makes it more interesting for the meer mortals amoung us but I can understand how it becomes very easy for some.
I really enjoy the interesting building, town features, old ruins etc kind of pictures.

    Great looking photo!

I'm gonna start it off with Barranquilla, Colombia (Shakira's Birthplace), but the list of cities it could be really is endless.
