Guess who's just back from calving a cow at the same neighbours place. Sure I'm as well move in there! :D

Was sure I was going to have to call the vet again but took it out with some help. Massive blue lad, went the whole length of the jack. Cow must be a tonne weight too, serious animal.

By that stage she'd be too thin.

Why is he using bulls like that if he is relying on you to get them out?

To be fair to him he uses this bull a lot and rarely has trouble, he's one of the 4/5 star replacement blues from dovea or bova, I forget which. Prior to this she's only had heifers and always fired them out easily. But then again I've grown up next to this fella and am used of getting calls at all hours for help
I remember a few years ago being in the yard working with a horse while the AI man was there.
''What bull do you want'' the AI man shouts up the yard.
''A big charolais'' was the reply. No question of calving difficulty or milk!

But sure what do you expect from a man of 82!
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't think there was ever an angus at that house. Maybe spoken as a bit of casual racism!
There's a few more around that help out too, just so happens that I'm nearest. Dad used to help him out but can't now so I have inherited the problem helping out. :D

Fair play to him. It's tough to go back where he was getting hassled, good to see him facing up to them lads.

I'm not in the south East but I wouldnt recommend buying the cheapest material going. I'd try and source good quality materials at the best price possible.

Don't know about cheapest but you want stakes that will last a good few years. Tommy Williamson near enniscorthy is always worth a call even for a quote. Put him in google and I think he has a website.

He has good stakes sourced from eastern Europe.

+1 to that. Broke a stke last year pulling one up after driving wrong and the creosote was penetrated to the centre. Really good quality. My rep from my usual mercjant buys his stakes there. Says it all for me.

Great to hear it. He is at an age where an outlet is essential to keep the head straight and keep him away from the gougers. If he is in the pitch he ain't at mischief.
