Time delay/lag switch

    Can these switches be fitted to any appliance?

    Wondering if they would be suitable to fit on an infra-red type heater (thinking of heating a smoking room) and wouldn't want it on all of the time.

    Fitted one of these with a stairwell timer controlling a contactor that operated a heater in a smoking room.

    Another option is a suitably rated pir (or a pir operating a contactor)

    Called to an electrical wholesale shop who tell me these switches are only suitable for lights - but j have seen them on heaters in pubs etc??

    The relay won't take the load alright. That's why you need to switch a suitably rated contactor.
