Many people who hate him do follow him on social media though to be fair? And I'm sure you've read articles online about him.

All these things serve towards increasing his profile and by extension his marketability.

Like it or not but even those who apparently hate him are doing just as much to increase his fame as those who love him.

I take your point but I don't really see how I'll ever contribute to him getting richer. the number of social media followers does influence things but ultimately it's
    1. people who buy tickets
    2. people who buy ppv
    3. brands paying sponsorship for a positive association (not people who don't like him)

    that creates income.

for number 3. the brands are not paying for people who don't like him.

@gamebred if you can only argue that I'm arguing, then that's a poor argument.

I don't stay up until 5am to watch the fight, I'll watch it the next morning on youtube where it's easily available.

If only there was a subscription channel that enabled you to watch all the events..

How do you think BT sports have rights to broadcast UFC events?

Because they paid the UFC a **** tonne of money.

Whats happened to this thread? Its gone way off topic. INstead of talking about the fight and now its result, it just seems to be a whole load of arguing. Its pretty boring having to sift through all the drivel to see any interesting posts.

Anyone else seriously impressed with Miesha Tate? I thought she came with a good game plan and thoroughly deserved the win in the end.

I bought it on my Xbox for that price. What's the problem with that?

(It got refunded and I watched for free, but let's assume it didn't!)

I personally have a BT sports subscription but there are plenty of people that viewed it through fightpass.

You said we dont but PPV's over here. I was just pointing out that you are wrong.

Paying 25€ for an event when you can watch multiple of them of for about 20€ a month is most definitely not the norm over here. Gamebreds point that all the "haterzz" are pratically lining his pockets might make sense over in America, but it doesn't over here.

So your point now is that people should get rid of BT because they are supporting McGregor. :pac:

There are more than enough people who do like him to bring in sponsorship. All those combined with the people who hate him are increasing his profile.

Oh and people who hate him buy PPV's too you know. Every Diaz, HOlm and Tate fan, regardless of their feelings about COnor who paid the UFC to watch the fight, put money directly into his pocket.

His PPV cut will for UFC 196 will be $5m+ at conservative estimates. Are you telling me all those people are fans of his? People might be paying to see him lose but they are still paying.

No my point is that they are, whether they acknowledge it or not, supporting him by paying subscriptions and PPV charges.

Try to keep up old boy.

Better terminate that subscription and boycott every UFC event. It is the only way to be sure. You lads have me in a right bind. (Plot twist, i don't have BT)

That's the cost for a BT sub. Add on the cost of a regular TV package too, which I don't have or want. I've a kodi box that does me for everything else, no problem paying 25 quid between me and a few mates for a PPV event we want to watch.

Anyway, this is all wildly off topic.

I just mean it isn't the usual way to watch mma over here, compared to over in America.

I did. I was away in Paris so I had too. Then I realised it was a UFC media block in Paris which meant I had to watch it with a proxy changer.

you're right - there are of course some dislikers (prefer this made up word to haters) who will buy ppv . but there's no way to say what split that is. I could say that it's 95% supporters you could say that it's 30% dislikers.

All the Mcgregor chat, and no one is talking about this fight. It was class! Perfect clash of styles. Holm was taking all the rounds that stayed standing, whereas Tate was great on the ground. She fought very intelligently, and was never truly in danger. I reckon she was a round behind in the 5th, and she realised she needed to really go for it. I was cheering when she won, such a great move to win the fight and a very gritty performance.

I hope Rousey doesn't come back and armbar her

Here's a weird one... All that Mystic Mac stuff where he predicts the style of victory?

Looks like he got almost everything right...

    - Personal circumstances (money at hand etc.)

    - Only wanting to bet for fun

    - Not wanting to excessively gamble with large money

€131 can be a lot of money to a lot of people.

It's the odds of the bet that were impressive. He won a 25/1 treble. Absolutely nothing wrong with first, betting €5 on a treble and two, gloating about winning a 25/1 shot.

Stench of arrogance there off your post just annoyed me to be honest.

To the guy that said he was impressed with Tate. I agree. I was wondering what she was doing in the first round not even attempting takedowns against a 10/10 boxer in MMA. Once takedowns were initiated she looked very good. Gets mauled by Ronda obviously again though.

I've always managed to find 'other' means to view his events, lower quality but a firstrow view and no patronage involved.

Does that represent the breakdown of ppv buys somehow?

That's the thing, Im happy for Tate as like Holly she is likeable - even as the contender I am quite surprised she was the underdog though, apparently. But Ronda is simply way too big and way too strong for her, and it's likely going to resemble a child fighting an adult.

Very obvious the size difference in that still alone.

Thing is you were supporting the country. They were representing Ireland.

    McGregor isn't representing Ireland.

Nonsense. He is always promoting Ireland, always bigging up the place, trying to get UFC in Croke Park etc. It's probably what I like most about him.

Size had little to do with McGregors loss...see my earlier post

Or to sum it up RDA beat Diaz at a size disadvantage....if McGregor was as good, he'd have done the same

McGregor is the Bully of the FW division, because he cuts so hard to get there...in with LW/WW he does not hold the size advantage he held below at FW

All ive been hearing since he lost is "size difference"

Nobody seemed to mention it when he was winning because of it
