He's still the UFC's top PPV guy, make no doubts about that one

If he's fighting at all at UFC 200, it'll be for the featherweight belt and it will certainly be the main event. His drawing power won't be too badly affected by last night's result.

I think he should take a few weeks off to refocus, get his priorities straight.

He should let aldo and frankie fight and winner fights Conor at UFC 201

If anything the loss will have folks more tuned in to see how he bounces back.

Is there really any need for him to fight at 200? He can probably get equal or higher ppv numbers on his own and then he wont have to share so much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 144 ✭✭ColdTurkey

Why didn't he go after Diaz's lead foot like dos anjos did to great effect. Take out the lead foot and stay off the ground, seemed to me like the only way to go

    100% agree with both.

The McGregor brand is so unbelievably strong right now, he can afford to take a loss or two and it won't affect his marketability. He is still the money fight for every one from 135-170, and every one of em would go up or down as required if they thought it would get them the fight.

I would be expecting his next fight to do the same numbers (or close to them) as last night.

    Conor's little statement on instagram.
thenotoriousmmaI stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed.
I will never apologize for taking a shot.
    **** happens.
I'll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am. If another champion goes up 2 weights let me know.
If your tired of me talking money, take a nap.
I'll still be here when you wake up with the highest PPV and the gate. Still talking multi 7's.
Thank you to the true support and **** the hate that came out of the woodwork. I love it all. Its still steak for breakfast.
I've been here many times in my life in some form or another. I'll eat it all and come back stronger.
Aldo you are a pussy. Dos anjos you are a pussy.
When the history books are written, I showed up. You showed up on Twitter.
To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges. Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on.
Nate I will see you again.

Oh well, I guess that brief cameo by humble McGregor is over then

I would love for him to fight Frankie now, thats the fight I think he needs to get back on track. 170lbs is just a bit too far at this point or his preparation for the heavier fights would need to change.

145lbs is perfect for him because he can make the weight and then have the advantage over his opponents in the ring, his power is also an advantage at that weight.

UFC 200 will be prime for him to do a job on either Also or Edgar, and get back to winning ways. The Conor we saw against Nate wasn't the usual Conor we see in there, so I am hoping that monster shows up again soon.

It's sad that he feels like he still needs to talk like this, more people will get behind him once he drops the bravado act

Nate broke him at the end of the fight and he should try to come to terms with how he quit rather than call everyone else a pussy

Is he not allowed reply to Aldos statement? The Nate fight has nothing to do with this pussy comment,Jose has no right to celebrate Nate beating him if you remember correctly Conor was cageside for Mendes Aldo and gave them their credit,

Tough to say, he's lost the aura but his fight with Aldo or Frankie is still massive. It could only really be surpassed by Jones/Rumble or Jones at heavyweight.

The difference between Conor and Ronda after losing is chalk and cheese,Ronda is still hiding away refusing to talk about mma.

A bit ironic that the name of the nightclub he had his after party was called Surrender.....

Strangely enough this might make Conor more popular than ever. He's been very classy in defeat and defeat makes him seem more human rather than just being some kind of overblown cartoon character. if there's one thing that people love it's someone coming back from a low point.

Connor cannot for one second be defended against any kind of trash talk, especially from another fighter, even from the likes of you.

Everything you have posted on this forum in the last number of weeks or months has painted you as the most masturbatory of McFanboys, so I hope you are enjoying this very much :P

Again you fall into the bracket of not understanding a fighter promoting himself so hes on 10m a fight and not 40k,

Yes im a MCGOAT fanboy and im still here,Im going no where, unlike the Aldo fans.

Do you think being a fanboy is something to be proud of?

Whether it's for Xbox vs Playstation, Rangers vs Celtic or Mayweather vs Pacquiao there's no sense in being a fanboy. It blinds you to logic, makes you annoying and repetitive and a spanner in the works of any genuine discussion of events.

The only true use for the brainwashed likes of you is financial reward for the individual or team involved and by the sounds of it you weren't at the MGM last night so what use are you to anyone really?

If you read any of my posts since the fight you will see im completely impartial when reviewing it,the better fighter won its really that simple,he has lost before he will lose again, and win plenty more,

You will never enjoy the real fun of your favourite fighter who is a local lad winning a world title *ko'ing Aldo* if your not emotionally invested in the guy,he is an inspiration for anybody who trains and competes in marital arts like myself.

Again you trash talk other users but at the end of the day when McGregor lost you were nowhere to be seen. You ran off like a little girl and only showed up earlier. You bought Kleenex to celebrate your idols impending victory but instead you used them to wipe your tears. Your idol has been decimated in the purest form of combat. He is a broken man and you are now inadvertently a broken poster through his demise.

I am an Aldo fan. And I am not going anywhere.

Almost everyone here is Irish, almost everyone here (including myself) loves Conor and wants him to do well. But you're the only one acting like you took too waaayyy much cough syrup and then attacked a keyboard, not just one time but repeatedly over a long period. Conor has a perfectly good PR team and can handle the duties himself, he doesn't need you repeating his trash talk ad nauseam

He posted the exact response the other day as well.

If Conor hasn't already then he should really consider getting a restraining order against whoever that poster is. His obsession with McGregor borders on creepy.
